Guest guest
Hey Lena,That's a great idea!! How do you trust info coming from all over, don't worry, worry, take a wait and see, act now... There is far too much info out there and figuring out which is the correct info is not easy... A geiger counter means you know one way or the other... We still have to supplement 12 - 24 hours before with potassium iodide (KI) which remains in the body for 1 - 3 days... A geiger counter will specifically tell when it arrives, so you would still need to have KI in you before this, but more importantly when the coast is clear... I have no idea how long we deal with fallout.. I've read that in the US, those who live within 10 miles of a nuclear reactor will be given two KI pills, that is 130 mgs... Since this remains in the body for 1 - 3 days, are we to assume the danger is over then? I am not so sure. Not knowing, I think I would want to keep up my KI levels until I knew for sure the danger has passed... Or get a read on a geiger counter to know for sure. Have you been listening to the different news stations about this nuclear issue? One minute you hear things are simmering down, the next news is " more danger " is just now happening... What is for sure, nuclear steam is entering the atmosphere and I don't believe anyone knows for sure if this will be dangerous or not.. When I first posted about this, I was not concerned about the fallout coming here as much as I was about potassium iodide being sold out and fast... This is something you buy and hope you don't need it. And sure enough, today all KI is sold out... I still am not worried about the fallout at this point, but having this KI (Lugol's) helps me sleep at night... I haven't taken Lugol's for a few months, but I am starting now with 1 drop daily and may even go up to 2 drops today.. I take thyroid meds (Armour) and I have read the body retains less KI when we take these meds... So after a few months of being off of Lugol's, I am slowly scaling back up... I never thought about a geiger counter, good thinking... Too bad though those selling them are charging so much... Hey, you like to make things, how about this!! :-)http://www.imagesco.com/articles/geiger/01.html Take care,JimPS: I just heard on CNN, nothing much has changed today, don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing... OT: Japanese Nuclear facilities leaking. Hi Jim,I decided to buy a geiger counter, because I am not sure you can trust any information given to us. Unfortunately, they are all sold out and the ones thatused to cost around $125.00 are selling for 4 and 5 hundred dollars on ebay orare up for auction and have been bid way up. I guess I will have to wait until this crisis passes and the supply comes back. I have seen three nuclear powerplant disasters in my time and if they continue to use these power plants, I amsure it won't be my last, so I might as well be prepared. >> Hi ,>> Not that I didn't believe you, but I searched and read about destination> Chernobyl!!
