Guest guest
Dear all, My old amalgram filling fell off from my upper left tooth right in front of the first molar. There is only a very small amount of amalgram left attached to my tooth. I will be seeing a dentist to have it fixed. But due to insurance and hard to find a trustworthy biologial dentist who are good with his/her hands, I am limited to see the honest and regular dentist with skillful hands whom I have known for years. This means more homework for me. Questions: Please read the below article to see whether I should ask for porcelain fillings instead of plastic fillings. http://www.dentalfind.com/dental_filling_material http://www.stormbound.org/dental.html Given the fact that I have lyme health challenge, I am very careful. Please advise. Thanks. I am grateful. Jen -
Guest guest
Hi Jen, Either of these filling materials are far better than amalgams... I would opt for the porcelain if the price is somewhat reasonable.. I've been using plastic for replacement, so far they are holding up... Guest guest
I had a compatibility test done. Biodentist said it's best to keep all the dental materials the same, so when I had my amalgams out and any other fillings done, I made sure they were all the same composite material. The dentist called it heliomolar which I tested compatible for.
