Guest guest
I also forgot to tell you to check and see if he's wearing flame retardant jammies? The flame retardant soaks in their skin ALLLLLL night long. Buy ONLY 100% cotton and try to stay away from China! Look into changing his mattress, this causes all kinds of symptoms if it's got flame retardant in it. I know a girl who couldn't get into a sleep and had nightmares for years, they changed her mattress and they subsided.things to look for environmentallyFloor cleaners / we use vinegar and water microwaved foodlawn care, round-up, herb-a-sides, pesticides, weed killers on your lawns for dandelions!!!!!!!!!!! This will take the skin right off your pets nose................'s baby shampoo has PEG in it..................sippy cups / if it's clear and plastic, it's got BPA or other petrochemicals HTH
Guest guest
He used to wear those flame retardent jammies but now he just wears his boxers. I will check those for where they are from though. I do clean with just vinegar and water and a touch of tea tree oil. Is there anything about Tea Tree that is bad? I used to put some alcohol in it to help it dry but after reading that post about the 10 worst things yesterday I will not be doing this anymore. Also my microwave broke down awhile back shortly after I realized my son was sensitive to aluminum pans and those no stick pots so I went to basically glass and some stainless steel to cook with. I saw the microwave thing as a sign that I shouldn't use it either and never did replace it. Which I am glad now for after reading what I have about how it depletes nutrients and isn't good period. I have also started using more natural shampoos. Although I got some from Trader Joes and it is free of the Sodium Laurel Sulfate it does have the Parabens in it so I am looking for another one that isn't too expensive. Any suggestions is appreciated. Now the plastics is the one I really need to replace. If you don't remember I posted about this awhile back. We use cups and plates that are plastic. I have got to find an economical replacement for them. I don't mean to sound cheap either. It is just that I am a single mom with no help and had to take my son out of school this past year to homeschool due to issues he has always had with daycares and schools. He will be doing the online school next year. I know I did the right thing since he is so much more relaxed and in such a better place since I did this. It is just an adjustment time for us and money is tight. So I didn't want you to think I just don't want to do this, I just have to do it slower than I would like. Like changing mattresses will have to wait. I am going to check his since it is only a couple years old. Does it affect anything to keep the plastic on the mattress. I mean the stuff on it that it comes with new. I ask because I haven't taken his off and wonder if I should have. > > I also forgot to tell you to check and see if he's wearing flame retardant > jammies? Guest guest
Thanks for reminding me. Since when I don't dig I usually end up returning whatever it is. LOL. Thanks again you are right it takes alot of work to be environmentally freindly. Those companies don't want us to know alot of things. > > > > > > I also forgot to tell you to check and see if he's wearing flame > > retardant > > > jammies? Guest guest
Now that I read that link I really see what you mean. I wonder if any of that has changed since 2007 meaning this phrase " Corelle Our specifications are that stoneware products and glazes are made of clay-based materials and glazes used throughout the industry. Decorations, if present, are made from low-lead enamels and fired at temperatures exceeding 1000 degrees F, which binds any heavy metals both physically and chemically so that their release is minimized. " I will HAVE to do more checking maybe the Dansk. Wonder how reasonably priced that is? > > > > > > I also forgot to tell you to check and see if he's wearing flame > > retardant > > > jammies? Guest guest
Exellent find! I often wonder about our silverware after seeing our next generation of kids.................do you have any resources there? ----- Forwarded Message ----To: miralax Sent: Mon, June 27, 2011 10:20:47 PMSubject: Re: Re: Luckymom / environmental issues Hi, You might want to do some digging on Corelle dishware... not sure it's lead and cadmium-free, for instance... http://wildinthecity.ca/2007/11/19/there-is-no-more-lead-in-my-dinnerware-i-think sorry... it shouldn't take so much effort and resources to keep an environmentally safe home! I can recommend Corelle dishware: http://www.corelle.com/index.asp?pageId=9. Made of glass. Shatter/break resistant. Ideal for use w/ kids. Available at Wal*Mart, Target, K-Mart and elsewhere, I'm sure.
