This does not just apply to meat at Lent etc. but neg emotions like grudges, anger, hatred pride etc.Incidentally Muhammed apparently meant jihad as the fight against one's inner enemies! Cn u imagine him condoning bombing each other's mosques!!!<< --Oh crap, can't we just sacrifice the meat? Mohammad and Moses both engaged in violence (Moses was genocidal in some instances, Numbers 31 being a frightening example). But I doubt either of them would endorse the tribalism of today's Middle East, which is closer to the blood-feuding of the pagan tribes they opposed than to genuine monotheism. If monotheists can't agree to stop fighting, they'll just have to witness the birth of a new religion eclipsing, or perhaps incorporating, their own. Ultimately, the soul is out of balance when it objectifies other human beings in order to fit in, to be safe or to avoid feeling compassion for the outsider. The compensating trend is for the group to unravel within, losing the bonds that give individuals permission to objectify outsiders, threatening them with role reversal and persecution by their own people. Jews and Palestinians are married to one another collectively, and they retreat into hard-line dogmatism and tribalism in order to avoid feeling what's happening in the unconscious. It remains to be seen whether the unraveling will only happen on the Palestinian side or whether secular and religious Jews will be at each other's throats as the compensating swing kicks in. Either way, reconciliation is the only way out of hell. Expecting? Get great news right away with email Auto-Check.Try the Yahoo! Mail Beta.
