Guest guest
I have a small jar of Tiger Balm my Daddy gave me, but I don't know where he got it. I like it. It's one of those hot/cool linaments. Uabi
Guest guest
The thing that has helped me the most is having synsvic shots every 6 months. However I often use Vicks vaporub and then apply moist heat, (i just soak a towel with water wring it out, and then put the towel in the microwave and use it) It smells like someone has a cold, but oh the relief. You might try it. Cheap brands do not work, there is something about Vicks! Gwen - any suggestions, opinions, advice, would be appreciated. Thanks. Guest guest
Hi Violet, and welcome. My name is Jen, I'm 34, and from Ohio. We share some of the same problems. I also have Fibro, as well as problems with my lower back, in the L5-S1 area, as well as having sacroiliitis. I take Oxycontin as well, but I am not familiar with the other med you mentioned. For knee pains, or any other ache/pain, I use unscented sports creme, or Biofreeze. If it's worse than an ache, I use Lidoderm patches, which are prescription. You can also try Thermacare heat wraps too...they make them for the knee now. Or if you don't want to have to spend the $$, alternating heat and ice helps ease pain as well. I hope this helps you some, and welcome again to the group! Jen
Guest guest
Hi: With fibro, neuromuscular problems, arthritis throughout & torn menisicus in knees I use methadone & Norco for breakthrough. Also for knees I use Pro Health's " Agility Factors " (Glucosamine Sulfate, Hyaluronic Acid & MicroLactin from ImmuneSupport.Com site with huge help. Good luck, Kathy in Central CA
Guest guest
I had a torn meniscus also - had it removed, the simplest surgery ever! The knee still aches and has limited motion, but no major pain or swelling in 5 years now! I was awake for the entire surgery and got to watch it on a video screen. It was pretty cool... Wish they could do something so simple for my back.... Guest guest
Hi Jen: Thanks for the welcome, and the advice. Re: Supeudol - This is a narcotic/med I take for breakthrough pain. I take 2 tabs=20mg. (10mg.each) every 4 hours. They take 1 hour to " work " , (although I am still in pain ... but it takes a bit of " the edge " off, if you know what I mean, but, I know that I need double of all the oxycontin and supeudol that I take each day. It's just that I am so tired all the time, and as it is now, I feel like " a basket case " - (what an odd expression!) - all of the time anyways, so I can't take anymore. I am in bed so much anyways. I live in Canada, and so perhaps that is a med not available in the USA? If you or anyone want more details on this med, ask for the next reply (haven't got the energy to get up now and go get them in the other room!). I think I will post a question - separately than here - asking opinions on meds members take with success for their break through pain. Guest guest
Hi Kathy: Thanks for the advice. Was just wondering re the Agility Factors......could you tell me the dosage, number of tabs, or caps per day which you take, and after how many months did you begin to feel positive results? I am so glad for you - knowing that you have some relief - YAY for you!! Guest guest
Hi Jami: WOW - You are BRAVE! You would probably do well in the medical profession - as a doctor, nurse, paramedic, etc. I get " weak in the knees " just thinking about watching something like that on a video!--- Takecare, lilacs1953 In chronic_pain , Jami wrote: > > I had a torn meniscus also - had it removed, the simplest surgery ever! > The knee still aches and has limited motion, but no major pain or > swelling in 5 years now!
