Hi Sherry,This is what I know (by asking doc. a while back)YES - RO water is fine (I should have posted that)She says it must be organic veggies - probably due to the amount of pesticides in greens - It's spring - could you do a small herb garden?  Otherwise, search for the newest list of least contaminated non-organic greens - but, no guarantees on this one. The RO/distilled may just push the pesticides into instead of out of......IDK.

Do NOT use a juicer. Only medium chop - not puree - with blender. (Blenders are cheap, $30 or less if you go to the Goodwill)

I've been meaning to ask, can this green drink be done with reverse osmosis water and non-organic produce?

I make my own reverse osmosis water and can't get reliable distilled. I cannot get organic produce out here either. I typically wash my produce, soak in filtered water with vinegar and salt (to help remove toxins) then soak in clear filtered water.

Would this be adequate to make this drink helpful to pull out toxins? I don't want to do to all the work and then have the benefits undercut, lol.

Also, I have an Omega style juicer, so would it be fine to just run it through that? The pulp is pretty much all cleared out. I would just run it through and add the appropriate amount of filtered water??

Thanks for your input,

Sherry

Thanks, . No garden for me...I'm in an 11th floor apartment, lol! So if

it MUST be organic, this is out for me unfortunately. There is no information

in China about pesticides on stuff, I just assume it is there.

there is a list on google that tells of veggies/fruits that have less pesticide coverage than others, may check that out. Other option is

some people clean their veggies/fruit with ozone water??? never done that, but may help....I still think that getting the greens in cannot

hurt you have to do what you can do and sometimes it is the lesser of two evils. just my thought.

Sherry, perhaps you can get a hold of some MMS (order it online if you dont have any) .You can mix some up and then soak your veggies in that.It should neutralize any pesticides etc.It used to be that we were told to soak veggies in a sink full of water with a tablespoon of bleach in it. do you have a balcony at your apartment?if so you could do container gardening.i know its difficult in china to know whats on your vegetables.vinegar may act in the same way I am not sureRe: OT: Green drink question for Posted by: "scdlymie" scdlymie@... scdlymie Date: Wed May 4, 2011 5:05 pm ((PDT))Thanks,

Thank you to everyone for your ideas. I've found several options/recipes for

cleaning vegetables, and my current process is probably not bad at all anyway.

In terms of " safe " veggies, it is still a major question. Cabbage is supposed

to be pretty safe. I used to make probiotic cabbage juice. But suddenly a

little over a year ago, it stopped working. It would just spoil. Apparently

they have added some chemical to the cabbage so that it won't work to make

anything fermented. The local people's winter fermented cabbage all spoiled,

too.

I may experiment to try to see if making and drinking this reduces how strongly

I test for my other detox treatments. If it increases my need for detox that's

probably a sign I shouldn't do it.

When children get poisoned in their milk here--it lets you know whether money

takes precedence over others' wellbeing.

Hello Everyone!

, I apologize if this question has already been answered but why is it better NOT to juice the veggies and just blend them slightly?

Thanks!!!

I asked my doctor the same question :-)  She said that they are two different processes (both good).  If I remember correctly, with the green WATER there is no focus on digestion at all - the focus is on drawing out toxins - pulling power.

Green juice is good to, but it has a different function.  I can't remember exactly, but I think the green JUICE will deposit more good nutrients from the greens.  I'm not sure, but I think green JUICE would be for those not eating enough raw green veggies. Didn't it get popular when people discovered the benefits of wheat grass - but who wants to eat that chopped up in a salad?

Some days I save the choppy pulp and use it at a lettuce substitute on a sandwich, or add it to my soup or salad - more fiber - never a bad idea ;-)Also, green WATER, is much less expensive: 1 cup of organic greens = 3 cups green water.  You won't get that result from juicing.
