Guest guest
- I'd have to second all of the several responses to your post/inquiry. Your profile says your 38, so I personally think you're doing right by considering surgery, but only if your uro is really an ace with readily available favorable outcome statistics, and you ask him straight out for a personal prognosis. Don't skimp on your preop (or pretreatment) investigations. Do indeed start your Kegels, and be sure you're doing them correctly, even if you have to abase yourself some to make sure! There is obviously some emotional stress involved with your diagnosis and the realization that you have this disease, but don't neglect your sex life - aim to have sex 3 times a day (and maybe you'll hit 5 or 6 times a week!). If for some reason that's not possible, jerk off, even if it goes against what you may have believed (it's not uncommon for married men in particular to feel guilty masturbating solo). Let your partner know you're comforted by the fact that she's there for you and don't shut yourself off from her. Stay in shape (and if you're not in shape, get in shape). If you use tobacco, stop - likewise if you eat or drink wrong, straighten up as best you can. Don't believe everything you hear, but I find a pretty honest balance of opinion and advice on this and a couple other PCa boards. Good luck. - jdnmd>> Hi all,> > As I look down the road towards surgery in a month or so, I'm wondering: > for those of you who have had surgery of any sort:> > Are there things you had wish you had known before the surgery?
