Guest guest
Well , that's great to here...........you may benefit from joining the low oxalate board. Owens is the moderator. She studies oxalates and helped us with our research. She has a PHD and speaks all over the world. It's nice to see that a little bit of research goes a long way. If it weren't for Nattalie finding the lemon juice study with EG ingestion, we wouldn't even know this. Thanks Nattalie! Guest guest
Hi and everyone I am new to the group. Maybe the reason lemonade (home made) works is because fresh lemon juice once it enters the body oxygenates the blood and toxins cannot survive in an oxygenated environment. Ginger is also awesome since it has a calming effort on the stomach lining. All the harsch chemicals the FDA pushes as " safe " are disstroying our bodies a little at a time. Greetings Everyone My 13 yaer old has been on Miralax for 8 years and now her rectum is non-functional. I have been doing some research and a friend sent me the Miralax yahoo group information for me to contact you folks. I took my daughter off Miralax Sunday. What a resurrection for my consciousness, (sorry for the pun) but I couldn't resist. Since my daughter has no parastalisis I was advised to give her adult doses of Senna at night and then give her a Fleets Enema in the morning to allow the poo to come out. I have done that for the last five days but it is obvious that the body will not tollerate this harsh treatment much longer. I need to know if any of you have found a way to conteract the effects of the paralizing effect that Maralax has caused and what you did to bring parastalsis back to the GI track. I found a practitioner that has some ideas and will be seeing her soon. I would like to get as much info from you folks as possible so I can help as many kids as possible with alternatives to Miralax, which in my opinion is suicide on the installment plan only we were not aware we were killing our kids. I am part of the Motility/Hirschsprung's support group and after taking Miralax for years the end result is these kids have large sections of their intestines removed. Thank you for you time. Guest guest
I'll get the info and post it to the group when I have it. A blood specialist from Berlin was shocked that anyone would orally take Miralax since it alters the body at the molecular level. My daughters gut is now paralized and the local docs still rave about how wonderful and "safe" it is...NOT... I was hopeing this group would shed some research answers. My daughter will not eat today, and cannot poo. It says right on the Miralx label FOR OCCATIONAL USE ONLY I guess they meant it. Holly Subject: Re: Re: Digest Number 2516[2 Attachments]To: miralax Date: Wednesday, April 27, 2011, 7:58 PM Hi Holly I am really distressed after reading your post regarding your13 year old. My 6 year old godson has been on Miralax since he was about 9 months old, becuase of Hirschsprun's disease. We went to many specialists until we found something that works to help go the bathroom. When we discused the Miralax with his docotor we were told it was natural and he could be on it all his life without side effects. I am been researching different natural options that we will begin when he gets out of school. According to the doctors, Miralx is not suppose to decrease the parastalisi but increase it. We are looking at calcium/magnesiun and vit c which will both give a person with normal stools loss stolls. Thanks for your info I will speed up our process of getting him off Miralex Re: Digest Number 2516[2 Attachments] Hi and everyoneI am new to the group. Guest guest
Holly, please let us know what the doc suggests about bringing the feeling back. It's called Ileus, look in the files section of the group and download for your doc. Many reports of illeus have been reported. My doc pointed this side effect out to me when overlooking these adverse reactions. Ileus can happen from low potassium which PEG depletes, give gatorade, & bananas. He says this medication, "puts the bowel to sleep"..............not good considering it does harm if not deficated immediately! Guest guest
, Make lemonade shake ups, add sugar, ice and use martini shaker to make it fun. Straight lemon juice will not taste good, turning the child off, and give them a tummy ache. Guest guest
Thanks Jeanie Just got back and Miralax was a major problem for my daughter. The new doc thinks her colon will be functional in 6 months using LACTULOSE and said since my daughter has only eaten organic food her whole life she should be pooping soon. The main thing is her rectum needs to become really calm and know that is can poo whenever it wants to and not be in pain. "The anal canal is an exit only device for it to calm down, grin. Guest guest
Hi Jack Sorry it took so long to respond I was out of town. Years ago I did research on Alkalizing the body to clear up acidiosis problems. In many of the books I read it stated that lemons are acidic in juice but once it is on the inside mixing with all our wonderful body;s chemistry they turn alkaline and oxygenate the blood so toxins cannot survive. There are numerous referrences for this but the ones that come to mind is Dr. Young's book the PH MIracle. I'll post the other ones tomorrow as I have the book at home and not with me.
