Guest guest
Ellen, I soooooo know what you mean! Sometimes I think these different diagnoses of bi-polar, ADD, are all manifestations of BPD or other maladaptive personality disorders -- maybe brought on by post-traumatic stress within families. I have my suspicions that the drug companies would have us believe that there are all these different " chemical imbalances " and disorders of the brain so that they can market all kinds of drugs. When really, people need to look inward and do the difficult work of managing their emotions, cope with anxiety and fear, and stop being so self-indulgent and selfish with their behaviors -- such that they terrorize everyone else. I, too, haven't spoken to my mother for almost a year and it's unsettling, but necessary. After finding this site, I am even more resolved to step out of the BPD roller coaster. It's such a relief to find it has a name and you're not alone! I look forward to hearing more about you.
