Barbara, you did have a rough day. I can't say much about the appliances but I

understand (I think) about the blood pressure cuff. It only lasts for about 30

seconds but those 30 seconds are almost unbearable. I never thought about

asking the dr. about it cuz I thought it was normal, but

now...hmnnnnn.....thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Here's my wierd question of the day. Has anyone had experience with having

unbearable pain caused by a blood pressure cuff? I refused to have my BP

checked the other day because I find it unbearable to have that cuff strangle my

arm. My BP has always been low to normal, so I am not worried about it. When I

told my doctor that I thought that there was a connection to this he just looked

at me as if the cheese done slid off my cracker.

Also, if anyone has any links to good sites that give accurate

informaiton regarding the symptoms of fibro I would love to know

them. Doing random searches seems to be getting me the same stuff.

I just know how much time and effort I have spent looking for the

reasons why I am feeling so horrible. Each " ologist " tells me that

it is not their department. Who's is it? What type of a physican do

you seek out for help with pain management without looking like a

druggie? I have gotten so many negative responses that I am now

carrying my bottles of pain medications to office visits to plunk

down on the table to assure them that I don't need any more meds.

Doing a search on our health care providers network came up with

nothing for fibro specifically.

I have a long laundry list of wierd things that are happening with my body,

and nothing shows up on any tests. My neck pain and shoulder pain has been so

bad that the newest doctor thought I had herneated discs in my neck. MRI showed

nothing! (and if someone asks me again if I am clostrophobic my answer will now

be a definative YES!) I am feeling so betrayed by my own body.

When I think of how much this is impacting my life I realize how much I need

to get some answers. I tried to suck it up and go out shopping today and almost

melted down in the home improvement store. We need a new dishwasher before ours

goes belly up completely, and you think that would be an easy choice. Between

all three girls opening things, playing etc. while we looked I lost my mind. I

am down here looking at the $200.00 dollar ones that look just fine, and my

husband is down looking at the ones with WAY too much testosterone for the

money!

Like gee honey....I could not even break through the fog to pick a

salad dressing at dinner without our poor server going through the

list five times. Now you want me to pick a dishwasher with fifty

eight different buttons, wash levels, etc. I need two buttons.

Start. Stop. Having controls that look like the cockpit of an

airplane is not really helpful. If I have to really think about what

I need to do just to start the dishwasher it will only complicate my life even

more!

That lady in Sears must have thought she was going to be making big

commissions today as we are going to purchase a stove, and a

dishwasher. I was just laughing when she was going through the

different whooptie doos about this dishwasher. It senses how dirty your

dishes are, has room for all of your wine glasses, has a

delicate cycle for fine china, won't damage teflon pans, and has a

warmer so that you can serve food on warmed dishes. Lady, the pizza that comes

to my door is already hot, and the only wine I get with my dinner is coming from

my three children's mouthes! Our crystal and fine china is located in the

basement storage room. Tell me it won't melt the winnie the pooh plates and I

could get impressed.

Thanks again, I am really getting the idea that I am not the only one in the

world with these strange symptoms. I feel a little less alone tonight.

Barbara

Thanks! Any info would be really helpful.

Having my BP checked always hurts. I guess that's one of the many, many

problems with being overweight on top of the fibro. I wish I could tell

them... no. .don't take it. But unfortunately, that's the only regular

check I don't mind doing. If I say no... then I have to go with a " 24 hour

urine collection " to check on my kidney function. I'd rather to the BP

check and just grin and bear it. But it is no picnic that's for sure.

gentle hugs,

Norah

Anya....I think those of us with fibro always have a hard time with the cuff.

I always close my eyes and pray. It is extremely uncomfortable. Love, Cam
