Guest guest
Since your daughter is so sensitive you are probably right...one more allergy to add to your list. Joyce M. Dávila Mamá de Verónica Marie Puerto Rico Re: Re: Q about Lauricidin - Dr. JM (repost) Hi Joyce! Happy New Year! I won't discount the possibility of die-off. I have to say that I have never observed any of the classical symptoms of yeast overgrowth in Leah - EXCEPT for one. She has always had problems with vaginal yeast, especially after an infraction with casein or soy and a subsequent infection that was treated with an antibiotic. That's it. No ring around the anus, no dark circles around the eyes, nothing! Over the years, I've had her on a continuous regimen of GSE (until we realized that citrus had to be taken out), oil of oregano (still takes that 4 times per day), olive leaf extract (also 4 times a day) for the past three and a half years. About 4 months ago, I started her on ProBio (Enzymedica). I started her on Caprylic Acid (Capryl by Solaray, which is made from palm oil). At the same time, I also started her on Lauricidin. At first, she got 7 pellets and I gradually increased to three scoops per day. Mid-year last year, I tried giving her TwiLabs Allergy C, but stopped as I saw adverse reactions. At the time, I was removing corn and had trouble pin-pointing all sources of it. I had to remove supplements and put them back in, in order to determine which were causing problems. I put Allergy C on the suspect list. Later, I tried it again, and again, there were problems. I stopped it. Back to Lauricidin and Capryl... On both of those, Leah was extremely constipated. Before I started her on them, she went daily - without any problems. In other words, with no dietary infractions, Leah is regular. As soon as I removed the Lauricidin, Leah almost returned to normal, requiring only 200-400 extra mg of Magnesium. Once I also removed Caprylic acid, she went back to normal the next day. I think, in this case, this is a case of intolerance to coconut (Lauricidin) and palm (caprylic acid). I think I got final proof of problems with palm oil today. I gave Leah some toast with Spectrum shortening this morning. Sure enough, she didn't go to the bathroom today and she sneezed a lot. Spectrum is made with palm oil. Leah has never been able to tolerate any vitamin A that is made from palm. She doesn't tolerate carrots, and I can't give her any other kind as most fish oils have soybean oil in them (makes her very sick). Dunno... Does anyone know of an IgG test that includes coconut and palm?
