Hi, I have c-spine herniations with pain, numbness and heavyness in the arms and fingers too. I was told that I don't have cord compression by my neurologist. I was told that I have cord displacement by my orthopedist. I was told by my pain care specialist that there is no difference between cord compression and cord displacement. I can't figure this out. Please continue to write because you seem to have very similar injuries to me and maybe we can help each other out. I have found so much help and support from this group. P.S. I have been on Lyrica for approximately 6 months and it does help. Phyllis

Hi Phyllis, Isn't it all so frustrating? I've met people who have had fusions with just the thecal sac flattened, without cord compression or the arm problems. I guess they just had neuro's who wanted to cut. As much as I prefer conservative treatment, the symptoms going to my legs is new and frightening now that I'm feeling wobbly. I've been in PT for well over a year now and have many, many strenghtening exercises. Back on the 21st of September I was doing the best I have since the accident. I had a couple of days with a pain level of 2! I know I haven't done antything drastic to cause more problems. How long have you been dealing with your neck problems? How are they treating it? I've never even had a cervical collar. I've read (manufacturer) that it can take up to a week for the Lyrica to start helping. I hope it is sooner than that, I should be able to fill that tonight. Take care, Jackie
