I am surprised that Kaiser is still around but I am more surprised at how many

people think the Kaiser HMO is about getting medical care or that they will help

you maintain " HEATH " . I had a patient with Kaiser the other day and her CHL was

211 and Triglycerides were over 230 and all she got was a copy of the blood work

faxed to her with the comment " Need to reduce consumption of alcohol, sweets

and starches ( rice, bread, potatoes, pasta).... " It was signed Your Health

Care Team E Mobley, Jr MD. BTW, she has never seen her Health Care

Team and does not know who is on her TEAM. I ask her if she was referred to the

Kaiser RDs, which I happen to know here in Atlanta, and she said no!!!!! She

never even got a follow up visit with her MD about the Abnormal Blood results,

she just got the fax with a * by the CHL and Triglycerides. It is Ironic that

the Actress, Katey Sagal, that played Peggy Bundy, the lazy high school

drop-out mother on Married...With Children sitcom about a dysfunctional family,

is the Spokesperson for Kaiser. How can people use Kaiser? Did they see the

movie the " Doctor " with Hurt who's friend is Dying because her HMO did

not run the proper expensive test to Dx brain cancer. Don't people know about

the Nixon tapes and Kaiser? Am I missing something here? What has changed about

HMOs that makes people feel that they get care?
