Guest guest
I don't know about the cause, but I do know that SAMe not only helps the liver but joints as well, also, you could look into MSM which is also very beneficial for both the liver and joints... Guest guest
I have lots of muscle aching and get therapuetic massages every two weeks. They have hinted that it is fibromyalgia. Guest guest
Quantell has lots of stiffness and joint swelling as well -- after a couple weeks of really bad ankle swelling I had him fitted for high AFOs (leg braces) which have done wonders. My gut tells me it's related to the PSC. I think that toxins the liver isn't clearing are somehow congealing in the joints. Of course, I have no idea if this is even physiologically possible. Guest guest
Biddy, they told me initially (6 years ago) that it was Arthritis. They have done several sets of X-rays on my hands, feet and arms since then and have concluded that it isn't Arthritis! The bone specialist doesn't really know what causes it but thinks it could be an auto immune problem. When things are really bad in my hands I get severe swelling at the effected joint. This swelling is cooler than the surrounding tissue. This only happens in the evening and is gone by the next morning. As far as I can tell this is not the behaviour of an Arthritic problem. After 6 years I have no deformation of the bones and my joints work normally between attacks! Never mind. It's a nice day and the sun is shining. It's Friday and I finish a 4 o'clock. Take care Steve Lawson.

I've also noticed this problem within the last few months. I was to my doctor friday, and out of the blue he asked me if I was having problems with aching joints, without me mentioning anything about it. I didn't think at the time to ask him what made him think that I might be having that problem. He usually calls me a few days after I see him to go over test results with me, so maybe I'll try to ask him about it then. athan
Guest guest
athan, If you find anything I would be interested in hearing about it. My joints (hip mainly) have been crying to me a lot lately. Ibuprofen is out so I'm not sure what to take that will help. Barby
Guest guest
I have fibromyalgia and my rheumatologist says that it's all part of the autoimmune package. That and hypothyroidism........ Let the fun continue. Penny
Guest guest
Penny: I also have fibromyalgia, have always thought I had hypothyroidism, but my tests are borderline and I am not on any medications for it. I get therapeutic massages every two weeks and they help my fibromyalgia tremendously. Judy > I have fibromyalgia and my rheumatologist says that it's all part of the > autoimmune package. Guest guest
Hi: I just was aching so much that I started going to a massage therapist at the chiropractor's office. She sees many patients with fibromyagia. She said that there are I believe 11 points where fibromyalgia patients hurt. She said if you hurt at 9 of them that I probably had it. Well, I hurt at all 11 and do so consistently. Without massages every two weeks, I ache all over. I then told my family doctor what she said and he said that she was probably right that there was really not much he could do for me since I was already taking the prozac. He said it is what they usually give people for it. He also gave me Soma which is a muscle relaxant, but I don't take it because I read up on it and it can hurt the liver. I guess if I got bad enough I could investigate it more. Hope this helps. Judy > Penny, Judy, > How was your fibromyalgia diagnosed? Guest guest
Dear Biddy, when I do get pain in my joints I also get swelling of the effected are. This does go down and my X-rays show no long term bone damage. When I had pleurisy it caused awful pain under my breast bone. The immuno suppressants have done wonders for the pain; I don't get much these days. Steve. ----------------- Biddy Santon wrote: > > Hi Steve! > Am getting very used to pain -- sad to say.
