everyone is different, my girlfriend goes once and week and always has............she's 40. If it's not broke, don't fix it. BUT........ if he's complaining of tummy aches, that's a different story? Is he is any distress? To: miralax Sent: Sun, May 29, 2011 3:02:54 PMSubject: Something other than constipation-I think

Ok after reading the posts on here and doing my own research I now am wondering if my son even has constipation or if something else is going on. He does not have the straining, or dry small stools it seems most posts I have have read talk about in relation to constipation. He just has infrequent bowel movements and when he does go they are oretty muchly completely formed and adequetely soft with no straining. He is also done pretty quickly once he does go which can be anywhere from every 2 days to sometimes 5 days in between bowel movements. Does anyone know what this means and what can be the cause of this?

He doesn't complain of a stomach ache. The concern is that he is being treated

for leaky gut and multiple food intolerances so without regular bowel movements

those toxins can be building up even more. Also since he seems to develop an

intolerance to so many things like his supplements even though they are allergen

and additive free I think it is because his body isn't getting rid of those

seemingly inert ingredients and therefore they build up in his system. Some of

these intolerances come and go as with his probiotic and digestive enzyme. So

if he has regular bowel movements this problem may be alleviated. Plus as I

understand it with Leaky Gut those toxins keep leaking back in if not

eliminated.

when you say food intolerances, what are you referring to? Does he get rashes, etc.? To: miralax Sent: Sun, May 29, 2011 3:58:25 PMSubject: Re: Something other than constipation-I think

Yes he gets rashes, especially with milk. He also gets coughs when it is pollen

season and he has been drinking milk. I am the same. It has something to do

with tolerance levels where he can tolerate small amounts of milk (except now I

know the rashes are caused by it) but the basic idea is that with both milk and

pollen in his body it leads to another symptom the cough. I have also come to

find that alot of these foods cause diarrhea which once eliminated he doesn't

get. But the most prominent symptom is behavioral. Which most people and Drs.

do not acknowledge or understand. I don't know if you have ever heard of Doris

Rapp M.D. but here is a link to a video called " Mom it's not your fault " . Watch

this and it will show you how allergies/intolerances can affect some children.

Just like they do mine. http://dorisrappmd.com/

It's all the way at the bottom of the page.

couple things:

1st was your child on Miralax? causes rashes / behavioral problems

make sure it's not environmental............

many people misconsture pollen allergies, including allergists, with our pesticide schedule. Yes, I'm the Mom who brought to our school district's attention that they were spraying for the gypsy moth on the day our children are outside all day. They changed the application schedule date to after field day after I brought this to their attention. After a pilot error and him spraying over their gym class at 8:00am, in which the teachers didn't bring them inside, I also informed them, and the county that I thought they may have forgotten the band bus children who are out at 6:15am and the middle school children who are waiting for their bus at 7:10 as they start spraying at 4:30am and stop at 8:00am. They do this every year the 1st of June. The Chemical used is, Bacillus Thuringiensis for the Gypsy Moth in the MidWest. Upon getting sprayed by a hellicopter on school grounds at 8am in the morning, all her nasel passages were inflamed RED and

swallon, stings to the point of having to drip water in nostrils for releif. No on could help her, nor did they know how to treat.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bacillus_thuringiensis

They also spray for misquitos during the summer months.

A very smart woman brought this to my attention: They start spraying our lawns with herbasides, fungisides, & pesticides on March 15th and again in the fall, which just happens to be allergy season. I'm not saying that some aren't having a problem with allergies but the problem is worse in the spring and fall b/c of the Pesticide application schedule.

If you look on March 15th how high the pollen levels are you'll see............there isn't any flowers bloomed yet, nor is the pollen levels high????

Another no no............flame resistant Pajamas causes the chemcial to soak in their skin all night long (not good for ANY child)

Because PEG is a poly based / petro chemical, it seems that children that took it will rash up upon sitting on a newly redone hard wood floor done with polyeurathane and react to plastics.

My dd got the weirdest rashes after taking PEG for 10 days and the problem got better but is still there, never had one before.

coughs can be caused by mold in the house or any of the above, and more (my other dd is like a barking dog when it comes to mold, we found it everytime she started coughing, moved out of condo b/c of it)

the behavior, again, was your child on Miralax or any polyethylene glycol product?

Laundry Soap, Lawn spraying, fertilizing, bug sprays

Sometimes, it can be right in your bed or back yard that causes some of these issues, it's like trying to find a needle in a haystack.

Many allergists need to do thier testing so they can rule anything out but how many really tell you about the pesitcide schedule???

Yes we tried Miralax but he only took it a total of 3 times. I never felt

comfortable with it due to what I read in my food additives books but his Dr.

kept recommending it to get him regular. I stopped using it completely after

his tic came back.

Anyways the rashes my son has always dealt with this. His previous Dr. once

referred to him as the rash boy. But never put 2 and 2 together just always

thought it was a virus. But I can see what you are talking about since we went

to the park this past Saturday and my son was itching right away and where his

legs hit the grass while playing he broke out in a bright red rash. Although it

did go away after a shower this was worse than I ever remember.

At the public school my son went to they always sent a letter home and sprayed

after school. But this past year he went to a charter school and I suspected

seasonal but now that you bring that up it could be that they were spraying.

I came to the conclusion of seasonal myself due to how his complete mood changes

and problems in school always followed the same pattern every year. He has

family members who get depressed at the same time every year too. What confuses

me is the differenc in results from the RAST test to the skin prick test. Like

the RAST test said he wasn't allergic to mold but the skin prick now says he is

same with dogs. Not sure if this has to do with the Leaky Gut or not but there

was also about 2 1/2 years in between and they were done at different times of

year. Not sure if that matters. But I would think due to my sons history that

Leaky Gut should have been present even then.

I think mold and yeast cause alot of his anxiety since once I took this out of

his diet the yeast that is he was sooo much better anxiety wise and could

actually get to sleep at night without his Melatonin.

I say the cough is due to milk and pollen because I had the same problem for

years. It took me almost 20 yrs to really put it together in regards to my

summer allergies. Since last summer was the first time I can remember not

coughing to the point my ribs hurt all summer long and that is because it was

the first time I ever completely cut out milk from my diet. Although I only

really used it in my coffee it still caused this. I should have known since I

never drank milk as a kid and when I started to put it in my coffee while in

beauty school I developed a cough that not one Dr. could find a cause for.

After about a year and many Drs. I figured it out myself. Don't ask me why I

started drinking it again. LOL.

As for the behavior my son has had issues with transitions and changes in

routine,OCD, anxiety , receptive-expressive language disorder and others since

he was a baby. I have come to find that alot of his issues have something to do

with how he processes things. He was diagnosed with everything from pdd-nos to a

mood disorder and disruptive behavior disorder nos. But none of the Drs. could

ever really figure him out. It was only when we started this new Dr. and the

Yeast Free Dairy Free diet that I saw the great improvement but again it hit

that same time of year and nothing helped. I have kept journals and calendars

and pinpointed these extreme mood changes to the same time of year every year.

He also behaves better when he stays indoors. This past year I ended up taking

him out of school to homeschool due to the problems that arose from his issues

and the principals at the charter schools mishandling of the situation which in

turn caused repeated school refusal. But I can say that he is allergic to cats

and now I found out dogs too and it explains why when we go to the pet store or

vet he is just climbing the walls and completely agitated till we get out of

there. Cats are a huge allergen to him. Dogs I found are a slight allergen to

him too. But I don't know of any other things that had PEG in them. I will

have to research that. What else is it in?

Well.............this really rings a bell with me...........Veterinarian's offices are HIGHLY sprayed for fleas, EVERY NIGHT, AND after EVERY VISIT. I've talked to Vet's about this as they ABSOLUTELY cannot have ANYONE come into their practice and leave with fleas. The cats and pets he's reacting to, do they have flea collars or do they put Vectra or Frontline flea repellent on their animals? Some people think they're allergic to cats and dogs when actually it's the toxic chemicals WE put on them that causes these reactions.Pet

stores are highly sprayed as well as grocery stores. Luckily I have a friend who studies this kind of thing who is very wealthy and very knowledgeable. She will not ever sit on an outside table in a restaurant b/c they spray the borders..............what a concept hu? She studies how to detoxify bug sprays with Ammonia in a spray bottle, etc. And will call the companies to find out what detoxes their chemicals. Some say, throw the park bench out..............meaning there's nothing to detoxify..........how scary! I knew a family that said their dogs nose was deteriorating, here

it was the herb-asides and pesticides they were contaminating his own lawn with. If you look up the Material Safety Data Sheets on toxic chemicals, you will see how crazy they can make people. Pfeiffer Treatment Center is a good place to start for looking for toxins in one's system. They have clinics set up all over the US. Their main office is in Naperville IL. Just so you know, there's controversy over the RAST testing as well. Some on here say to use Entrolab, or other means of testing / alternative diagnostic testing. Something about IGG's and IGA's. Something you may want to

revisit. It would seem that it's something in your environment thats bothering him, just like he said, when your cup is full. His body must be overloaded with something or was exposed to something as a child, now reacting. this is what was explained to me..........if someone was exposed to pesticides, any little bit of exposure will cause symptoms. These are nasty chemcials and I would certainly go over the environment with a fine tooth comb to try to figure it out so he doesn't continue to be exposed,

secondly I would get a stool sample done to rule out candida. Vaccines are always something to look at as well. When you say it happens at the same time of year...........when? Call the County and find out WHAT they SPRAY and WHEN................research the MSDS and see if there's a corrolationmaybe the yeast diet helped but it's the environmental issues that triggers? May

there were two problems? Is he around any family pets that are treated for fleas or ticks? Do you use only vinegar to clean your floors? What kind of laundry soap? What kind of shampoo? s baby shampoo has PEG in it also................Hope this helps..............Jeanie To: miralax Sent: Mon, May 30, 2011 2:12:01 PMSubject: Re: Something other than constipation-I think

My son doesn't seem to have an issue with our dogs. That is why when we had the

skin prick test I was surprised to hear he was allergic. But when we got our

little dog about 4 yrs ago he had mange and they did a bunch of flea dips for

it. Something I regret to this day knowing what I know now. Also our dog is

not the same after those dips either. He got very sick after one when we

switched vets because I couldn't take the smell of the lyme dips and they did it

too strong and the poor dog just isn't the same dog. He was very well potty

trained before and after he seemed to lose that too. Plus he has severe

allergies no matter what I do to help with them and vets haven't helped either.

Anyways I do worry about that and the fact that I am a hairdresser by trade and

worked throughout my pregnancy. My sons Dr. wonders if this has something to do

with his chemical sensitivity. For home I use a vinegar, water, alcohol and tea

tree mix for cleaning. Vinegar and baking soda for the tubs and stuff. I

stopped using fabric softener due to my sons tendency to chew on his clothes and

only use vinegar and baking soda in the wash for that. I did recently try a

different laundry detergent but plan to by a different kind when it is gone that

is more natural. I got my son the Trader Joes Shampoo and conditioner when we

went sls free. Although he hated the natural toothpaste and refused to brush

till I gave him his crest back. Still working on that one. LOL. I make his

handsoap from Dr. Bronner's, water and organic virgin unrefined coconut oil. I

try to shop as much as I can afford at Whole foods and Trader Joes buying

organic when I can. So I have cut out alot of the environmental triggers. We

do live in a town home so it could be the spray they use outside. Since he has

said he feels better inside. I have always tried to use natural pesticides when

possible although they sometimes did not work so I had to use something else. I

was told they were safe but you know how that goes. These symptoms always start

at the end of January with the Reactive Airways symptoms then that gets a little

better and the sore throat or strep throat comes and all this lasts from the end

of January till around July and right around March or so he is refusing to go to

school. I don't have my notes but that is the basic idea. We live in LV so

alot of our trees and such are not native to here. I wonder if that has an

impact. Since they have to transport them they probably spray them too. There

are alot more allergies and asthma here than ever before. Oh and is PEG just a

term this group uses or is it the same as the food dyes PEG 40 etc?

PEG = Polyethylene glycol Your hairdressing while pregnant could be a good lead. I have a friend who had a dd that had allergies, they went to numerous docs until one found out it was boxelder bugs and found out they were planted all the way down her street. I went to FL for spring break 1990, I came down with a terrible cold and was treated with antibioitics, after the illness I had irritated eyes that became chapped / ribbed right below the bottom lashes where you would put your eye liner on...........I had to take benydryl daily. Strange thing is.............EVERY year at the end of January through the end of Feb (years fluctuate, sometimes longer, sometimes shorter) the same thing happens, and I was only there for 3 months. To this day,

at the beginning of February, Marchish, my eyes water and sting upon putting on my make up and they will water up on the corner of my eye, wrecking my eye shadow on the outside ends of my eyes? I told my doc that it waters up and made him meet me to witness!!!! LOL! I really feel I got into something as they spray in FL all the time. For whatever reason, I've battled this for 21 years..............You should look into the plants, lawn care, and what the county sprays at that time. Apartments are HIGHLY sprayed as well.....................My friend says fill a spray bottle with Ammonia and water and spray around the base boards to detoxify? I guess it depends on what chemical it is but she's a multimillionare and can't get any relief, and hasn't for years. She lives on a pesticide free estate and is a movie producer for Copola. We have a sugar ant problem right now,

she says use insecticidal boric acid mixed with mint jelly, it clings to their feet and brings back to the nest, they cannot replenish fluids fast enough, dehydrates and takes care of the nest. She's intelligent to say the least.................If what you're seeing is only at certain times of the year, it could be A something he was previously exposed to or B something he is being exposed to in those months. My son doesn't seem to have an issue with our dogs. That is why when we had the skin prick test I was surprised to hear he was allergic. But when we got our little dog about 4 yrs ago he had mange and they did a bunch of flea dips for it. Something I regret to this day knowing what I know now. Also our dog is not the same after those dips either. He got very sick after one when we switched vets because I couldn't take the smell of the lyme dips and they did it too strong and the poor dog just isn't the same dog. He was very well potty trained before and after he seemed to lose that too. Plus he has severe allergies no matter what I do to help with them and vets haven't helped either. Anyways I do worry about that and the fact that I am a hairdresser by trade and worked throughout my pregnancy. My sons Dr. wonders if this has something to do with his chemical sensitivity. For home I use a vinegar, water, alcohol and tea tree mix for

cleaning. Vinegar and baking soda for the tubs and stuff. I stopped using fabric softener due to my sons tendency to chew on his clothes and only use vinegar and baking soda in the wash for that. I did recently try a different laundry detergent but plan to by a different kind when it is gone that is more natural. I got my son the Trader Joes Shampoo and conditioner when we went sls free. Although he hated the natural toothpaste and refused to brush till I gave him his crest back. Still working on that one. LOL. I make his handsoap from Dr. Bronner's, water and organic virgin unrefined coconut oil. I try to shop as much as I can afford at Whole foods and Trader Joes buying organic when I can. So I have cut out alot of the environmental triggers. We do live in a town home so it could be the spray they use outside. Since he has said he feels better inside. I have always tried to use natural pesticides when possible although they sometimes did

not work so I had to use something else. I was told they were safe but you know how that goes. These symptoms always start at the end of January with the Reactive Airways symptoms then that gets a little better and the sore throat or strep throat comes and all this lasts from the end of January till around July and right around March or so he is refusing to go to school. I don't have my notes but that is the basic idea. We live in LV so alot of our trees and such are not native to here. I wonder if that has an impact. Since they have to transport them they probably spray them too. There are alot more allergies and asthma here than ever before. Oh and is PEG just a term this group uses or is it the same as the food dyes PEG 40 etc?

What I was asking about PEG was " Is it the same as you see on food PEG 40? " Or

different and just how this group refers to Polyethylene Glycol?

We live in a Townhome and they do have a regular spray schedule that I will have

to find out about especially since we just got a new HOA and it may be

different. We used to live in an apt. that I got out of when we could due to

multiple leaks and I worried about mold plus it had a bug problem and was an

older wood building.

I was trying to look up plants especially after the park incident this past

weekend so atleast I know what plants are there when we go but had trouble

finding a picture list of the different trees, plants and grass. Any idea where

I could find one?

The smaller the molecule, the more and easily it's absorbed. 's Baby Shampoo has PEG 80 and PEG 150http://www.johnsonsbaby.com/bathtime 3350 is the size, they're all PEG although according to this ingredient list, there's different versionsI suspect the chemical spraying is what's bothering your child, find out what they sprayed in your area and when they sprayed, research the MSDS's and see if the symptoms are what you're seeing, then, find out when they'll be spraying again and see if it causes the reaction. Tell them you want to be notified on ANY applications. Herbicide, Pesticide, Fungicides. The City, The County, the schools, the parks, the building you live in. Put in writing your concerns to your board members. To: miralax Sent: Tue, May 31, 2011 1:43:59 PMSubject: Re: Something other than constipation-I think

How do you make the Dr. Bronner's/ water/organic virgin unrefined coconut oil soap? Sounds great. To this day,at the beginning of February, Marchish, my eyes water and sting upon putting on my make up and they will water up on the corner of my eye, wrecking my eye shadow on the outside ends of my eyes? You know I really don't have a recipe I just use the liquid baby mild soap and

go about half and half with the water. Then add some coconut oil. It doesn't

suds a whole lot and you have to shake the pump but it really helped when my son

was obsessively washing his hands and they started to crack. I also have really

dry skin and it helps tremendously. I never have been able to figure out a good

thing to use to make it thicker though. But we don't mind. One thing though is

don't use it in one of those automatic machine pumps since Dr. Bronners has a

tendency to clog them. Dr. Bronners is supposed to be good for everything but

it does leave a residue on dishes and stuff. So I don't use it for that

anymore.

We use that pump that "foams" the liquid soap. We just use the whole foods brand refillable soap. I am so bad about inside household products as I am a clorox and ajax girl (I know! Bad!! Shoot me!) But I have never had sensitive skin. As a kid, I used to put dish soap in my baths. Never got any infections (knock on wood!) But I DID stop using dryer sheets last year as my son has a very, very mild form of Keratosis pilaris on his forearms and tops of his thighs. Only a very small patch in each area so I thought maybe the dryer sheets? It about killed me to stop as I loved how they smelled. We use natural clothes soap too but for whites- peroxide didn't cut it so I still use bleach sometimes. Is that horrible? :(Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerrySender: miralax Date: Wed, 01 Jun 2011 03:51:02 -0000To: <miralax >ReplyTo: miralax Subject: Re: Something other than constipation-I think You know I really don't have a recipe I just use the liquid baby mild soap and go about half and half with the water. That is what I think my son has. Although I just figured it out never had a

name for it before. So let me ask you is Keratosis Pilaris caused by an allergy

to something? How was it explained to you?

That's so ironic! I thought I was the only one who did this. We use Bonner's, too (the unscented Baby soap), add a little coconut or olive oil and we have a fantastic soap. It's great in the winter when skin is dry and cracked anyway, let alone from lots of hand washing. You know I really don't have a recipe I just use the liquid baby mild soap and go about half and half with the water. Then add some coconut oil. It doesn't suds a whole lot and you have to shake the pump but it really helped when my son was obsessively washing his hands and they started to crack. I also have really dry skin and it helps tremendously. I never have been able to figure out a good thing to use to make it thicker though. But we don't mind. One thing though is don't use it in one of those automatic machine pumps since Dr. Bronners has a tendency to clog them. Dr. Bronners is supposed to be good for everything but it does leave a residue on dishes and stuff. So I don't use it for that anymore. > > > > >> > > > > everyone is different, my girlfriend goes once and week and always > > > > > has............she's 40. If it's not broke, don't fix it. Shaklee has a all natural product called Basic-H. I use it but prefer vinegar and water, but if you're looking for an all natural you can google. They don't give you the ingredients but say you could make in your own backyard. To: miralax Sent: Tue, May 31, 2011 11:21:51 PMSubject: Re: Re: Something other than constipation-I think

:(Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry

My son abhors the smell of vinegar. I know it dissipates but is still so strong, even when I blend essential oils into it. Any suggestions?Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerrySender: miralax Date: Wed, 1 Jun 2011 05:51:00 -0700 (PDT)To: <miralax >ReplyTo: miralax Subject: Re: Re: Something other than constipation-I think Shaklee has a all natural product called Basic-H.
