my gi doctor and all of the gi doctors at hasbro hospital are obsessed with

miralax. I asked what else can my boy take and they refuse to give me any other

option. WHAT THE HECK! They act as if nothing else existed before the almighty

miralax. So since they wont give me any other options i figured i'd ask the

group what softens poop just like miralax? I know senna will try to push it our

but that just aint enough.

Maybe ask them directly – what would you have recommended several years back when there was no miralax? There are some patients who can’t tolerate it, what do they do for them? This is as natural as you can get, we used to put it in applesauce, it's definitely got the power. Give lots of watermelon and foods with water in them. Make up fresh fruit plates and individually wrap them on glass plates to make them look appetizing and redily available make fruit kabobs together. Make smoothies with yogurt and fresh berries. (kids love to garnish them with berries and whip cream and give to Mom & Dad!) Use a mandalin to slice veggies and experiement with creative shapes and get them interested in cooking and healthy eating.

Herblax..........not sure how old your child is but we used it at 4yrs. They crush with a squeeze into a powder. Years ago they used licorice root and fennel which is in herblax

I had the whole team at Children's Memorial say the same thing until we told them what had happened to our daughter, then one of them told me under his breath away from the crowd that through osmosis, it could have soaked through her stomach wall and went to her brain. Sad, very sad.
