I have 2 bad areas of diverticulosis. that ends up pretty often in diverticulitis. but so far I have been blessed to clear it up with anti-biotics. Jena Re: Donnie Donnie - Sorry to hear about your upcoming surgery - are they removing the entire colon or just part of it? In other words, will you end up with a colostomy? In the last year, I had 4 major intestinal surgeries - had a temporary colostomy which has been reversed now - two of the surgeries were on the colon end of the intestinal tract and the other two were up near the outlet of the stomach end of the intestines. I won't tell you it was fun, or that I wasn't miserable at times, but I am better now - back up and around - able to work and not feel any worse than I did before I got sick most of the time. The back pain since the surgery is unrelenting - and from what they tell me due to the fibromyalgia and arthritis it won't get better - at least they give me pain pills. I can only go off of what you have posted, but it sounds like the love has gone and has been replaced by verbal and physical abuse. You deserve so much better, it will be painful and hard in the beginning as you start over but I know you will find a better life. My advice is to start looking for a place to stay, most people on SSI qualify for assistance in rent. Contact your local United Way for groups that can help you with everything from housing to legal to moving to finding someone new.
