Guest guest
Sorry to hear about the extreme pains you are going through, the one thing that I have heard in regards to syringomyelia, is that it is a disease onto itself(disclaimer). Caused by irregular pressures of spinal fluid in the dura, which cause the syrinxes. However a syrinx along is not enough to diagnose syringomyelia(disclaimer). I have heard that surgeons install spinal shunts in the dura to direct some of the extra spinal fluid into the abdomen so normal pressures are maintained. Also if you have Chiaria as well there is a surgery where they remove a portion of bone in the lower portion of the cranium to allow for more space for spinal fluid to flow. > > hello to all it has been awhile since i've posted.been hospitalized > twice in a month for pain control.i have since been told i now have > another syrnix most likely caused by tc surgery.i've lost nerves in > left arm in 3 places but yet it's the right i drop things with.new > diagnois is congenial anamoly nervous system carpel tunnel and > syringomyelia.someone from this group had suggested awhile back that > was what it sounded like i had.had mri's for hydroceplus no results > yet.did research on my on and found out the nuerontin was causes > alot of my probs.and morphine increases the effects of it!i had > gained 10lbs overnite at hospital!!!since taking myself off of the > nuerotin i feel so much better and have lost some weight.anyone out > there with any news on syringomyelia/syrnix let me hear please! > thinking of you all, sandra sanderson
