I sent this earlier but I didn't see it come through and wanted to introduce

myself. So if this is the first time you've seen it, great. If not, soooo

sorry!!

Hi all. My name is Margaret and I am from South Jersey. I was diagnosed with

Fibro in September 2003 but finally got pain relief for it in February. I'm

doing well, very functioning because I have to be. I have been married 19

years, have a 14 year old daughter, Becky, a 4 year old son Jake and a son that

will be 3 in September, Andy. I take percocet, Ambien and Celexa. It helps. I

take two percs every 4-6 hours, before I get in too much pain. I take one

Ambien at night and 2 Celexa (40 mgs total) at night. I was on that right after

I had my last son but only 20mgs but when they diagnosed me, they boosted it for

stress and anxiety relief.

I don't know what else you all want to know about me. I am a quilter. Have been

for about 3 years. I'm in the process of making a signature quilt for my nieces

graduation party on 7/10. I just cut it out today. Pray that I get it done in

time!! :)) I have a good sense of humor which gets me through my life with

these two boys I have! I was 40 when I had Andy so I wll be 43 in August and I

don't know what is worse; a hormonal teenage daughter or the toddlers!!!! I

love them all. they are great. My husband is a nurse so that is a help when it

comes to meds and what's going on with me and what I can take and what i can't

(I have a severe, deadly allergy to asprin!!). So, it's a big help to have him

around. Just might keep him.

I look forward to getting to know you all. I belong to one other group for

fibro and a bunch of quilting groups so I check my email a few times a day.

Oh, and I'm really curious about this medicine that is buried on the bottom

shelf of WalMart?? What's up with that?? What is it?? Does it have asprin

product in it or a warning about asprin allergy??

I'm interested

Margaret,

Mom to the monsters

Don't know if anyone else has replied or not, so I'll go ahead and tell you

about these patches. They are a type of pain reliever that comes in a pack of 40

and costs about $3.88

The patches are about the size of the palm of your hand, and gently stick to

you. Just stick them where ever your feeling pain.(at least those places you can

reach. )

the name of these patches are SALONPAS.

I find them to be of great help. My Hubby will put them all over my back. I'm

so glad I read about them.

I hope you like them. For the money you realy wont be loosing anything to try.

A warm welcome from Iowa too..!! Hi I'm K and the WalMart OTC

pain relief is called Salon Pas and what I hear is aspiran derived

from these patches..I've never heard of an allergy response to it

but I suppose it is possible.

Active

ingrediants are: camphor....1.2% menthol....5.7% and methyl

salicyate ....6.3%

Incative: butylated Hydroxytoluene, Hydrigenated Rosin Glycerol

Ester, Meleated Rosin Glycerin Ester, Natural Rubber, Perfume,

Polybutene, Polyisobutylene, Silocon Dioxide, Starch Gradted

Acrylate, Titanium Dioxide, Tocopherol Acetate, Zinc Oxide

WHEW...lol I'm 53 and the mother of two grown children. Ty 27 and

Tina 23...both born on Easter Sunday and as I tell others they've

had me hopping ever since.. Been married to a wonderful man,

for 29 years. I have a very supportive family and unfortunately my

daughter,Tina was just diagnosed with Firbro this year..Not a

complete surprise as she was born with juvinile rhuematoid arthritis

and was very sick for 8 years with it and her immune system really

took a beating from it. She's in the process of filing for SSI right

now..in fact just saw a psychologist this past week who told her she

wasn't suffering from depression or anxiety disorder but more a

frustration/confusion issue over not being able to stay well for any

length of time....No DUD !! My heart aches for her but the Dr's. at

the University Hospital are going to help her stay comfortable.

That's what alot of us pray for every day. just to be pain free. So

many have forgotten how that feels. I've been disabled for over 24

years..and never really pain free till this past year. I take

oxycontin 80 mg. every 6 hours along with endocet 2 tablets and

neurotin 300 mg. But I'm dropping of the neurotin and started taking

Namenda which is for altzheimers but it's shown to help control pain

from fibro also..just released in the US but used in Canada. Just

started it this past week and takes awhile to reach blood levels but

it dhoulf hrlp fight that old fibro fog also. At least I'm hoping it

will...my Mom had Altzheimers so that is another worry I have to

live with. But that's for another day....

Just Me.... K
