Hi Barbara,

Welcome to the group. You sound like a very busy Mom. I love the names of

your daughters...very pretty.

Have you seen a pain doc at a pain center or a rheumatologist. In my

experience...pain doctors treat fibro pain more aggressively than any other.

What kind

of symptoms do you have?

I think you will like it here and hopefully we can help you find some

answers. This is a safe place you can come to and vent or cry...whatever you

need to

do. We are here for you.

Good luck,

Kay

Hello! I am looking for some insight, and verification that I am not

crazy. I have been diagnosed with Fibro, and told by other doctors

that I am crazy it does not exhist. I literally cried when I saw all

of they mixed symptoms that I have seen a larger number of " ologists "

all grouped under Fibro. There is just no way that my symptoms are a

random group.

I am a mother of three beautiful gifts from God. Hannah 10,

7, and 4. I am married to a wonderful man who has put up with

my illness way too long. I am not being the mother, wife, daughter,

or friend that I want to be. I am so very tired of telling them no

to all of the things that " normal " moms do. I don't want to kill

myself doing something, and then pay for it for days later.

I am looking for ways to cope, how to find a specialist who will look

at me for the whole picture. I don't want any more physical therapy

that just makes me feel worse. I don't have time to do biofeedback

like my neurologist suggested. Honestly, I just don't have the time

to sit and think happy thoughts with wires on my head.

Our youngest daughter was a preemie and is hearing impared. My seven

year old is hearing impared in one ear. My 10 year old is twice

exceptional, gifted and with educational issues. I homeschool all

three.

I am looking for advise on how to deal with my new life filled with

constant pain. I don't want an extraordinary life, ordinary would be

just fine with me. I am hoping to see some great ideas from those of

you who have been where I am now.

Thanks! Barbara

Hi Barbara. Welcome to the group, although I am sorry for the reason that

has brought you here. You are a very busy Mom and I understand your

frustration with having limitations forced upon you by this invisible

disability. Whoever it is you go to for treatment needs to be experienced

in treating fibro patients. In my town that happens to be a rheumatologist.

I see several doctors, but I have other health issues besides the fibro. We

go through different stages when we find out we have fibro much like a

person does when grieving. Denial, anger, fighting, acceptance, etc or at

least that has been my case. I grieve for the life I had that I can no

longer have. I find that is just boils down to listening to my body and if

I know I can't do a certain thing then I have to say no. You will have to

find out what your limitations are and then learn to function within them.

This group will be an excellent source of support and to bounce things off

and even vent when you need to. We are all in the same boat and so we

understand exactly what each other is going through. Some of us have worse

symptoms than others but we all have the same common enemy.

gentle hugs,

Sundra
