Guest guest
I was told before my last Detethering never let anybody doe Exploratory Surgery on my Back. Other Tests you might want to look into are a CINE MRI, and/or a Myelogram, but I would save that for a last Resort. I think I see what they mean, but have they Ruled Out other things it may be caused by? It's probably Neurological in nature, which can be caused by Tethered Cord, but there are other Neurological Conditions that can cause the same thing, and other Symptoms as well. Yes, it is possible you developed that, but you've probably had it longer then what you thought, if that is what you have, and it is just now flaring up. Good luck. Me Nebraska, USA mymocha@... Guest guest
Pain wasn't a problem for me before my last Detethering. I have more of it now then I did before Surgery. I didn't have any Nerve Pain before Surgery, just your moreorless, normal Day to Day stuff. They're definately still learning, and there's much to be learned. There is no real strict Standard of Care when it comes to this.......each Dr. seems to do things a bit differently. Not everybody has complete Followup Care, stays with the same Dr.(for one reason or another, alot of times, the Switch is for the better and needed to be done), or has Post Operative MRI's..........those are all things, in my Opinion, that makes it harder to figure this all out. I think it's not uncommon to have a second Detethering........they do help many people. I just think they are not rushing into it as early as they used to. But it's still a common thing to be done. Well, not really. A Retether happens just because of the natural nature of Surgery.........Scar Tissue will form. Scar Tissue forms in any kind of Surgery. It can be a Crapshoot for some.........but remember, it's helped alot of people. I know, that's hard to believe when it's not you. I know, I've been there........it took me a long time, and in some ways I'm still working on it, to realize this.
