Guest guest
I don’t want to alarm you, but if you’re daughter has autism, you really need to get her off of Miralax ASAP. It’s been known to heighten autism spectrum symptoms. My almost 3-yr-old daughter uses the following products: A chewable probiotic Juice plus gummies Pedia-lax fiber gummies Benefiber mixed into her drinks (the unflavored kind) From: miralax [mailto:miralax ] On Behalf Of sharonllarson1970 Sent: Monday, June 21, 2010 6:56 PM To: miralax Subject: using miralax for one month Hello, My daughter who is 4 years old has started taking Miralax after my mother in law suggested she take it. She has been taking it for about a month, along with Fibersure and Aloe Vera Juice. The Fiber sure (2 tsps a day) and aloe vera juice (3 oz 3 times a day), but they did not work along. My daughter has autism and it is very important that she have a daily BM to rid her body of yeast, toxins, etc in order to get better. I saw her have bowel movements most everyday with the Miralax, but I want to try other methods. I am starting to increase her water intake, having her drink warm water in the morning. I also want to increase her magnesium and Fibersure intake, but I need real help on what has really helped others. Please, tell me what has helped and in what amounts. Due to yeast and bacteria in there systems, children with autism have a more difficult time, but I am welling to try many different safe method to help her have a BM everyday. Thanks for any help, Sharon Larson sharonllarson@...
Guest guest
My son (26 months), who has Spina Bifida, has been on Miralax since April 09 and is doing very well. We have found that the best approach is to keep him from becoming constipated by using diet, Miralax (10 g / daily), and enemeez (once daily). Because my son doesn't drink as much water as we would like, I am careful with the fiber. If you don't have enough water, fiber can have a negative effect, and can make the constipation worse. How are you increasing the magnesium? If you are using a supplement, you need to be careful. While naturally occruing Mg doesn't really have an Upper Intake level, supplements do. For a child of 4, I read it might be as low as 110. Too much Magnesium supplemtn can lead to hypermagnesemia. Refried beans are an excellent staple in my son's diet. I have read many posts here from parents of children with autism condemning Miralax. I have read testimonials elsewhere from parents of children with autism praising Miralax. I have looked very hard for the past year+ to find an alternative as effective as Miralax. I have not found anything that has the same effectiveness, and the alternatives all seem to have documented side effects. How much Miralax is she taking?
