Guest guest
Hi Lena, Good thinking! I would never have thought about the pH of cream of tartar!! It is about 5... So it is acidic... Stomach acid ranges from 1 - 3.5 so it is more acidic.. I would think many Lymies have higher stomach pH, same for older folks... http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_pH_level_of_cream_of_tartar http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003883.htm Cream of tartar should be taken on an empty stomach, 1 hr before or 2 hours after food... Taking apple cider vinegar 1/2 hr before meals or Betaine HCl with meals increases stomach acid. When I took cream of tartar, I scaled up to 2 Tbsp's daily, broken into 3 - 4 doses.. Guest guest
Thanks, Jim,COT seems to have resolved my candida, at least as far as I can tell. The morning dose I take and hour or so before eating, but I've taken the second dose with food. Guess I should reconsider that. Hmmmm.Be well,LénaHi Lena,Good thinking! Guest guest
Hi Lena, As I understand the way cream of tartar works on killing Candida, it actually drowns them by encapsulating them. Thus the reason for taking on an empty stomach, easier to get them I would think... You can also take CoT in the middle of the night if you awaken then, that's a good time.. I actually bought 5 lbs from BulkFoods.com thinking I was going to be fighting Candida for a long time, but I got rid of mine in a little over 2 months by scaling up to 2 Tbsp's daily. I had just finished 14 weeks of abx and it didn't take long for Candida to take control of me.. I thought my gut flora was ruined, but someone told me my symptoms sounded like Candida.. They were right... That was a good 5 years ago and I haven't been bothered with it since.. My husband just did a course of abx for a dental issue, and I insisted that he take fresh kefir a.m. and p.m., but he's been kind of 'off, with headaches and slight nausea and I'm watching him closely.Be well,LénaHi Lena,As I understand the way cream of tartar works on killing Candida, it actually drowns them by encapsulating them. Guest guest
Hi Lena, My big symptom of Candida was abdominal bloating that nothing seemed to help.. This is why I thought my gut flora was damaged badly. Also, terrible constipation and some diarrhea... And a lot of gas... Nothing I was doing back then helped, then someone sugggest Candida since I had just stopped abx about a month earlier.. When I first started Cream of Tartar, didn't do much, but I was at 1 tsp. When I got up to 1 Tbsp, I started feeling a little better, so I cranked up to 2 Tbsp's and a few months later I was finally over it.. I really am a strong believer now in taking probiotics if taking abx... Yes, Kefir is good and he should take it.. Got some probiotics, maybe he will take them instead.. I know at times when I feel ill, I too won't take anything until I feel better.. When I first got my abdominal pain 20 years ago and in 2006 my doctor believed that was my first Lyme symptom, my occasional migraines became regular as did the nausea that followed. Looking back, headaches are often an overload of toxins and nausea is common if too many pathogens are being killed either by our immune system or kiling protocols... So hubby may be experiencing these because the abx are killing some pathogen in him, not a lot but enough. I used to drink cold water to help with the nausea, it helped some.. Take care, Jim > > > > > > > > Hi , > > > > > > > > I already do all those things--have been taking enzymes, HCl, and > > > good > > > > probiotics for years.
