Guest guest
Hi Juli,So often when we kill something, we have reactions to the toxins left by their dead. I'm not saying this is the case with you, and I'm certainly not a doc, just an experienced Lymie lab-rat, but when I started COT, I had some fairly nasty bloating and it diminished with dedicated detox efforts. Your choice of words is apropos: "I can't get to the bottom of the issue" It seems that much mainstream medicine deals with the surface of symptoms but not the underlying 'bottom of the issue'. I'm not qualified to comment on Prevacid, but my husband takes it reluctantly and is trying to wean off. We've heard that ultimately, at the 'bottom' of the situation, it further imbalances the HCL in the stomach (which is both your digestive organ and your main part of the immune system,)and things get further and further out of balance (which necessitates chronic, expensive, maintenance palliative pharmaceuticals that 'manage' but don't heal.) 30 ago, before I was diagnosed with Lyme (we now know I got it with a bite 45+ years ago), I was treated for my mycoplasma pneumonia with abx, which put me in a 1.5 year tailspin as far as my digestive tract went. Docs never did figure out what was going on, although now it's pretty obvious that my Lyme disease was already chronic and advancing. In my almost 5 years of reading Lyme groups, I've come to think that abx is not a good fix for chronic Lyme: better for acute, recent-bitten Lyme. I can only imagine what abx might be doing to your system. I don't know your history, what specific abx, how it's being administered or pulsed, and how Lyme-literate you doctor is, but I really hope you can find someone competent to help you get to 'the bottom of the issue.' Many people have improved taking Apple Cider Vinegar (Bragg's) as a way of restoring the whole system. I've been lucky not to have extreme digestive issues, just smaller ones requiring gentle tweaking and constant monitoring. I hope you can find your balance.Be well,Léna Hi Everyone,I actually tried cream of tartar and had a really painful bloating in the gut. I can't get to the bottom of the issue but after taking steroids for an asthma attack, had a minimal flare in my Lyme but a massive flare in Yeast and Acid Reflux (or something that resembles it). My doc started me on Prevacid which helps about 80% but antibiotics, MMS and cream of tartar flare the acid like crazy...and if I go off the Prevacid the esophageal burning, frothy throat stuff and lung inflammation continues. I continue to ramp up on the MMS but after reading all of the comments about H.Pylori, I wonder if that could be the underlying issue. But if the cream of tartar and MMS kill it, why would some people with H Pylori be aggrevated by using those treatments. I'm so confused...but still seeking answers if anyone is willing to answer. Thanks,Juli
Guest guest
Lena,Well, I have been on anything and everything. I began with antibiotics (doxy, ceftin, Mepron, Z-max, Plaquenil, Biaxin) all of which have worked and continue to work from time to time depending on my symptoms. Next was a parasitic cleanse, salt/c, coil, far infrared sauna, detox protocols, MMS, herbs. I have seen some very reputable LLMD's in CT and NY and naturopaths as well. My case seems complicated, a lot of strange things, but never so bad that they dig in and try to really figure it out. I also think that I have many co-infections which rotate like a revolving door. I have had mild herxes with rife but I have found most success with antibiotics but temporarily and definitely at a cost. My bloodwork comes back a little out of wack each time but not so much that they want to follow up. I feel that ultimately I have to be responsible for my own well being but it's difficult to know where to start when running in circles.I've always had a bit of mild acid reflux which only went detected when I would develop a chest cold, worsening the condition into a chronic one lasting months. After antibiotics, the reflux has become a more constant thing and now If I stopthe prevacid the cough just comes back. The interesting thing was when I took a three day dose of steroids, I could feel the lyme ( or that's my assumption anyway) in my spine and brain, stinging which then became a small mess to clean up, but the yeast and stomach issue became disproportionately inflamed. At this point I need to work on the stomach issues and work that out along with the yeast issues then worry about the Lyme and co-infections. Digestive issues definitely present a problem with treatment, than your stars at least you've got that working for you!Warmest,Juli
