Guest guest
hey. Hope this finds you well. I understand the problem your talking about. and I can understand why you cant stand the idea of letting your kids or Hubby wipe you. So heres and idea if you dont mind. This may sound silly but here it goes. there are times that I cant reach either . So I made something to help myself out. I got a box of wipes. ( the disposible kind) and I bought a back scratcher. I just put the wipe on the scratcher and wipe with that. It reaches, I dont have to strain, and if you get one of the good strong wooden ones you can cut off what part of the handle that gets in your way. I guess you could say personalize it. I hope this does'nt gross anyone out. Paige

Guest guest
What a great idea. Thanks. I think I'll inquire at the handicapped health aid store. I can't remember what's the store is called right now. Stupid Fibro Fog :-( I have to call them to rent a wheelchair and while I'm there, I'll ask them if they have any aids to assist in the wiping department. They must have lots of handicapped and elderly that need aids like that. I'll let you know what I find out.. if I can ever remember what the store is called... sheesh. This fog is horrid today. hugs, Norah Re: Re: Beware-Bowel subject! hey. Hope this finds you well. Guest guest
I am just so grateful that this subject was brought up. I thought I was the only one as well. I was blaming being overweight until I thought about it a little longer. It's definitely a range of motion problem as some days I don't have this problem and other days... boy oh boy. Grateful hugs, Norah Re: Beware-Bowel subject! -I thought I was the only person with this problem....Thanks for the idea.

Guest guest
This brings back memories, although i never had to do it. When I had my gastric bypass surgery, some people had suggested, while healing, that I wrap the TP on a wooden spoon and wipe. I never had to do that but it sounded like alot of them did. Of course, you would toss the spoon later and don't make the mistake of laying it on your stovetop! haha. Margaret Re: Re: Beware-Bowel subject! hey. Hope this finds you well. Guest guest
Sundra......YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES/ Re: Re: Beware-Bowel subject! I know this isn't exactly what we've been discussing, but it is a bowel subject. I was wondering....since developing fibro, have you noticed a decrease in your range of motion which makes it difficult to wipe yourself after #2? It is embarrassing, but I've been having that problem lately and never had it before. hugs, Sundra
Guest guest
<There are available special toilets which are operated very easily by pressure with either elbow.> <snipped> That is interesting, but unfortunately I live in a rented unit so that would not be an option for me. hugs, Sundra

Grateful hugs, Norah> Well Norah, it was embarrassing but I just figured that it was just us ladies and we are all pretty much in the same boat. It helps to know that you aren't the only one having the problem even though it is bad enough. My husband is at the store now and I called him and asked him to get some of those wet wipe things that you can flush. I think that would make it easier too. I'm not so sure about the back scratcher idea though. I think I might hurt myself, roflmbo. gentle hugs, Sundra
