Guest guest
In my opinion, people should listen to their bodies. If someone poops every few days and they feel fine afterward and not like there's more there, then what' the problem? It's funny - docs will put these black and white boundaries on people (everyone should poop 1x/day, everyone should have a thyroid level of xx.x, etc.) but yet say they just never know (meds, surgical outcomes, therapies, etc.) as everyone is different....What to do? I go along with the holistic view that everyone really is different and we just need to listen to our bodies. Eating right has something to do with that, but that's another topic! As for which Natural Calm is right for your son - how old is he? I switched over from Kids Calm to the adult version when my son was 7. But then again, I was giving him a larger dose of the Kid Calm than what it said on the bottle (maybe equal to the adult dose? Idk). Maybe compare the two doses and take it from there. Good luck! Happy Thanksgiving!I just want to say a big thank you to everyone on here--this group has been so helpful!! I went to the GNC and bought Natural Calm--I've been using it for my son--working with the dosage and he has been doing much better--the pasty, playdough like stools have stopped and the other day he actually had a regular looking BM--first time in a very long time~!! Obviously,we're not out of the woods but I feel like we're going in the right direction--he was taking Miralax and Ex-lax and NOT going to the bathroom so to have him going now is really great... My question is this--I didn't realize there was natural calm for kids so I've been giving him the regular stuff which i assume is for adults--is this ok? or should I switch him to the kids version? Also, last time we were at the GI he said that my son should be having a BM every day---he still is not doing that... is that such a big deal? I just figured everyone has their own schedule according to their bodies--I know my other kids don't go every day and they're fine with no issues--anyway, just wondering!! Thanks again everyone!~and have a very Happy Thanksgiving!!
Guest guest
Glad to hear the success. The main difference between the Natural Calm and the KidCalm is that the latter has Vit C in it also - either work fine. RE: the daily BM -- that's your long term goal but it is probably not going to be achieved for several months as the GI tract retones itself -- actually getting smaller. BUT - it can't get smaller if there's too much stool in there, so you'll still want your son to have several sit down periods a day to keep teaching the proper habits.
