Guest guest
My daughter used to have very white, sparkling teeth. When we started SCD, I switched her from Tom's Fennel to Weleda Children's (which is a yellow/orange color). In the last several months, her teeth have noticeably yellowed...remarkably so. I thought she might be doing a poor job of brushing as I allowed her to take on this part of her routine. I'm not thinking so any longer, however. We've switched to a toothpowder (ecodent), and still very yellow teeth. We give her 5 drops of Mycelized A every night before bed. Could this be the culprit? Could this mean she's getting too much A? (she is 7 and 1/2 and weighs 48-50lbs). If this is the case, is there anything we can do to correct this? Thanks, Carla mom to Aidan
Guest guest
My son's teeth turned gray.. .really gray when on SCD.. his skin tone also,. It corrected when Dr. JM suggested we alter his diet away from SCD and teeth were white again in a short time. Not the same change you are seeing but none the less a color change with the dietary change. Hope you figure it out soon.. perhaps it is a supplement or too much of a food with that coloring but I'm sure you've already racked your brain trying to eliminate things like that. Good luck and hope it resolves soon. Best, > > My daughter used to have very white, sparkling teeth. Guest guest
Carla, Lucy's teeth were always kind of yellow --she has used the Weleda which is white (comes in an orange and white tube) since she began brushing a couple years ago. They have whitened considerably on the Low Oxalate Diet and I attribute it to the massive quantities of calcium citrate she's taking--not very scientific, but a hunch. We also have allowed rice flour (only two days a week) and honey back in (she was SCD for over a year). At the moment, she is not getting the mycelized A and has never had it for very long (suspected tolerance issue). I am going to try to start it up again in the next couple weeks because I know she needs it. Best of luck sorting it out. > > My daughter used to have very white, sparkling teeth.
