How Much Aloe Vera Juice

After being on Miralax for almost 6 years (I know!), we finally stopped giving

it to my 7 year old cold turkey 3 days ago. I've been wanting to get him off of

it for years (well...pretty much since we started), but I was too scared of him

not being able to poop. However, it all came to head when he started having

acid reflux this summer, STILL having encopresis even though he was cleaned out,

and then he started having urine accidents at 7. That was it, and we stopped

giving him Miralax.

I'm still scared about him not being able to go. The first 2 days were fine,

since he still probably had Miralax in his system, but he didn't go at all

today. I have been giving him aloe vera juice since we stopped, but I wasn't

sure how much to give him.

The first day I gave him 1 tbsp straight, but he didn't like it, so I mixed 1

tbsp the next day with juice. Today I gave him 2 Tbsp. I have a probiotic from

Vitamin World that I gave him the last 2 days and I've ordered the Kirkman Gold

Chewable and KidsCalm to try also. In the past, I've given him 1 tbsp of EVOO

also, which he will take straight, but I haven't started that again yet.

Am I about right with the dosage of the aloe vera juice? He is 7 and about 42

or so pounds.

If he doesn't go for a couple of days, I think I'll need to do a laxative of

some sort, since we have finally had him where his colon is not stretched out

and I'd prefer to keep it that way. I have not experience with what laxative to

use, since we've only used Miralax in the past.

Thanks! I would love any and all suggestions on ideas to help, although I'd

prefer no negatives about how long he was on Miralax.
