Guest guest
Hi Tamara,My first impulse, if it were my spouse, would be to give him some proven Lyme-killer that you have used for yourself and see if he herxes. This used to be the only definitive way to diagnose spirochetal diseases, and seems the most immediate test. No herx might not mean negative, but if it happened, would be a clue, I'd think. The tricky thing is that there seems to be the possibility that even RA can be a manifestation of Lyme, so... That said, inflammation could come from some sort of topical exposure, food, and other things in the environment creating an allergy response, so think outside the box. I'm with you in your nervousness. My husband of 44 years has never caught my Lyme, but I'm always uneasy when he manifests any of the dozens of symptoms that could point that way.Best of luck. Let us know what transpires. Be well,LénaHi guys, My husband who does not have lyme & co. is 42 tall and thin and very fit. Last night we were eating and his right hand started to swell. Significantly, and I have to say he has long thin fingers and they looked huge. Especially the middle finger. He said this has been happening on and off to him the past couple of weeks. Another factor is that his father had severe rheumatoid arthritis and up until this point Doug has not shown any signs. As most of you know I also have a large dog and foster many other dogs so ticks are always a possibility. I am really nervous because hand swelling and numbness were my first symptoms of lyme & co and I really don't want him to go through that journey. Please let me know if you have any thoughts on what it is. Tamara
Guest guest
Hi Tamara,Lyme will never display just one symptom, so I would watch him to see if other symptoms show up. Typically 10 or more symptoms means a stronger case for Lyme, but not always as this could be some other disease that has similar symptoms. It is also possible that just one or a few symptomsof Lyme start to show first, then as the disease spreads, more symptoms start to show. Here is a Lyme symptom list...http://www.canlyme.com/patsymptoms.htmlAlso watch for redness on his hand, everyone I've seen that Lyme affected their hands, they were reddish and looked irritated... My wife had this in both hands. You could start him on the GB4000 for Lyme and see if he gets a hit... Any kind of herx wouldgive a greater concern of Lyme... Guest guest
Curious about your wife's red, irritated hands. I tought I was dealing with a difficult case of dry skin this winter on the backs of my hands. I have never hand this symptom before. Pretty sure I had a recent flare during Feb. Could this skin problem be a new manifestation? Guest guest
My Daughter was diagnosed with Scoriotic arthrits atr 19 years old. Some of her fingers and toes were HUGE, and she was bent over like a 90 year old.. I gave her Una De Gato and Pau D'arco and all her joints went bqck to normal. I thought she had Lyme for years, but the tests were always negative. She responded very positive to herbal treatment. Just thought our experience might help someone out there. This was three years ago and she has not had the arthritic signs come back yet. Guest guest
Thanks everyone for your responses. I have started him on Sawmento and I will see how he does. He is clearly not sick but the hand swelling in alarming. His middle finger on his right side goes back and forth from being normal to being three times its size for no apparent reason. My first lyme signs were swelling in my hands. At the time I saw my first reumatoidologist who explained to me that lyme does not effect the small joints so I was in fact fine. I don't think its lyme but there is always the question. I did rife him last night and he has not herxed. I do however feel that there is a pathogen that is starting this process. His father was crippled from his arthritis at a very young age and eventually wheelchair bound. I might at some point switch over to cumanda and then maybe mms because they are so broad spectrum. Guest guest
Thanks Jim. I appreciate all the time you take to post. I am familiar with the false results. I had done natural health for 20 years before I discovered that I had Lyme. I didn't know that by taking what my body had called for I had been inadvertently treating Lyme at times. Wishing you all well, Sunshinyday
