Lotacats,

Thanks for the insight. My sister-in-law worked for the American Embassy and

has lived all over the world. Despite all her adventures and worldliness, she

never married or had a family. I think some of her sharp words reflect some

regrets she has @ her own life and perhaps a little jealousy. I really hate it

when she starts cutting on my boys- but who wouldn't?

What's new with you lately? It has to be blistering hot in NV.

Give a hug to all the kitties for me.

Ok, weird question.... .

Hi everyone!

The group has been so busy lately; I've been trying to keep up but have fallen

behind. I hope everyone is doing well and the pain is staying low.

I have a weird question that I think is related to the narcotic meds but am not

sure and am wondering if anyone knows or has experienced it...when the meds are

totally out of my system like when I wake in the am or sometimes even when it's

a little past my normal dosing time, I get this odd feeling in my head..it feels

like " brain zaps " ; I know that sounds weird but that's the best description I

can come up with. In my forehead area there is this heavy " zap " that lasts maybe

3 seconds; this will come and go frequently, it seems until about a 1/2 hour to

an hour after I take my meds. The only other time I have felt that is when I was

trying to get off an antideppresant; I'd get that exact same feeling but it came

frequently and after my Dr told me to just take my med the feeling went away

within an hour. Ok now that you all think I'm crazy, has anyone felt anything

like that????

Thanks & everyone take care,

Mmmmmmm yummy....with some Kikoman Teriyaki sauce.....  Cats bummed some of

it.  They know just how to get to me for little bits of steak.

No one likes confrontation but if you don' t stand up for yourself folks like

that will just  pick you apart little by little because they can until you

blow up so best to set the rules right up front and be very, very clear where

the boundries lay..

I had something similar when I was taking Effexor (an antidepressant) . I looked

it up online and people called them " brain shivers " . I had terrible headaches

trying to get off of it - I had to open up the capsules and decrease it by 1 or

2 pellets a day. I've never had them since.

Maybe you should ask your doctor @ it.

I hope you are doing OK.

Wow! What a jerk. Mine does stuff like that and when I ask him why he's angry,

he says he's not!

I'm so angry at him today. My ungrateful stepson (the one who blew him off on

Father's Day) calls yesterday and says he needs a ride to his college

orientaion. Why his mom or grandpa couldn't take him, I don't know. Anyway, my

husband drops everything to take him and has been gone since 8 AM this morning

and here it is after 3PM. I feel like crap and I'm stuck here taking care of

the kids while he's galavanting around with that little jerk. The little punk

graduated with a 1.3 GPA from high school. How's the little pothead going to

get through college?

I wish my husband would leave. He's no help and then I have to cook and clean

for him too. He throws his jeans in the laundry even if he's only had them on

for 2 hours. I'll wash a bath towel, hang it up and he'll throw it right back

in the laundry basket! I can't trust him to do anything for my diabetic son

either. This morning he didn't change the code on his test strips. When I

asked him why, he says they were the same as the last one. He was looking at

the quantity, not the code!

If he threatened to leave, I'd pack his bags for him! Every week I tell him I

want a divorce and he just ignores me. I saw a lawyer once, but I'd have to be

long gone before I served him. It's hard to dissapear with kids.

Sorry I went on so long. It's so nice to be able to blow off some steam.

He just walked in and didn't say a word. It's going to be a long night....

I'm here whenever you need to talk.

Hugs,

Jena,

How old is your daughter? That must be so hard to do all that with all your

pain. Just because we CAN do stuff, no one understands how much energy it

takes. I used to just go nonstop before I got sick. All the while my husband

was laying on the couch watching sports. Sometimes I wonder if my getting sick

is nothing more than Karma.

I wish I could give you a great big hug for being such a great mom.

If anyone out there can honestly say that they do not catch heck from their

husband or wives over our problems. they had better grab hold and hold on to

them for Dear Life. as they have one heck of a spouse.

In the beginning, my husband was terrible. If I had a place to go other than

living with my parents I would have been gone. but I have to think about my

Disabled Daughter. as there are days that I am not able to even bathe her. and

I need his help..... even though his favorite line is you want me to do it now?

about 5 times and finally I just get up and do it.... and pop a pain pill and

lay down on the couch when I am finish. my daughter. don't get me wrong, no way

am I complaining... but it is like caring for a 3-5 year old that weights 220

lbs. and that is a job. to wash her hair, bathe, shaving her underarms and legs.

get her out and dry her and then she can finish up putting on her gown and

panties. and then my husband will say just wait I am fixin to give Beth a bathe

knowing dang well I have already did it.

He used to make a extra effort to be home from work in the morning to put Beth

on the bus to go to the Center. Now he usually get here 5 min. after the bus has

gone. it breaks my back to climb in that bus and buckle her seat beat. :( and I

am always the one to get her off. I have told him many many times how much this

hurt me. but apparently it doesn't matter. as he doesn't make a effort to help

me with it. I told me Mama the other day it seems my life is pop a pill and go

or do what I have to do. :( so many of the things that hurt me the most are

nothing to a man. such as vacumnning. loading Beth on and off the Bus. etc. but

somehow, I end up doing them.

ok, I guess I have yak enough. just wanted you ladies to know you are not in the

boat alone. I am there with you.

the worse. but the thing is. it makes him look bad and everyone feel sorry for

Kitties kewl.  No slobber on their heads....ugh!  When all four demands

cuddles they have to line up.  Every dog should have his own kitty.

Pain holding....it has it's time when stuff jumps out like my leg, knee ankle

lately.  The break thru crap....but my blood pressue is still holding well and

the PVC's quiet.  I'm not gonna let that happen again that scared me so bad.

Fox New's Dr. Rosenfeld was on as he usually is on Sundays and he made me very

happy.  Someone had written in about pain and how much to stand etc.  (He

answers veiwers questions) and he said loud and clear that " ...It is not noble

or brave to suffer pain without treating it.

Being afraid of addiction is not something people have to be afraid of...by

taking meds when the pain is still low that even helps avoid it .... " and so

on.  He said some very good things that are educational about chronic pain and

pain meds.

Bless his heart.  With all this stuff about Micheal and the drugs...I

thought...here we go again.  Villianize the pain meds.  I'll miss MJ and am a

big " Thriller " fan...but I don' t know what he did or did not do so I won't

say.  But I know drugs will be demonized again.

Peggy,

I did a bible study on Ephesians last year and I love that passage. I also

liked the verse before (Eph 5:24): " Now as the church submits to Christ, so

also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. If everyone would

simply follow those 2 sentances in their marriages, what a better world this

would be.

My husband's father was a real piece of work. He drank, caroused and belittled

his mom (even though she is a WONDERFUL woman). I guess he's an improvement

over his father - he doesn't drink). I always worry that my boys will treat

their wives like Dave treats me. They do stand up for me at times, so I hope

not.

My pain is a 9.9 today. It's clear and sunny, but there must be storms brewing.

I can feel them up to 100 miles away. My husband thinks that's my imagination

too.

Thanks for listening to my woes. I'm so happy that you have such a wonderful

spouse.

Hugs,
