Guest guest
Sadly in my experience the doctors don't seem much interested any more in what causes the aches and pains, I have Fibromyalgia, Lymphoedema and Neuropathy and while the doctors are ready to give me pain killers they never investigate the source of the pain. I often think that if I were to develop anything serious it would not be discovered. I certainly don't know what to attribute each pain to though I largely blame the Fibromyalgia! Penny Shrewsbury UK What kind of pain is it? Does anyone else have problems distinguishing the difference between fibro pain, back pain from other sources, OA etc? Have you found any helpful ways to tell the difference in the pain? Do you experience nerve pain and have you founy anything helpful in dealing with it, i.e. meds, therapy etc? gentle hugs, Sundra 1. While it is wonderful to share our experiences with everyone on the list as to what treatments do and don't work for us, pls always check with your dr. Some treatments are dangerous when given along with other meds as well as to certain health conditions or just dangerous in general. 2. If you are in a difficult situation (doesn't matter what it is) pls don't be afraid to ask for help. It is the first step to trying to make that situation better. Have a nice day everyone. Guest guest
Oh Boy!!!!!! What a question. Yes to all questions except dealing with it!!! LOL. Here is what I do....in sequence. First I take 3 Excxedrin. Then I lie in my chair and ask for God's help in dealing with pain. Then I ask if there is anything I should do. Unfortunately, I don't hear a voice telling me anything.....but I kind of go with my feelings. I'm in considerable pain today and I took the Ex. and then prayed. About 15 minutes later I got up and removed all the books off my bed and put them back in the bookcare.....then I cried hard for about 10 minutes and then I got the strong feeling to come in the den and check email. It doesn't make any sense, but that's what I do. Sometimes I nap....but I usually never call anyone when I feel this bad. I just figure that later on I will hopefully have some relief. Does this help at all? Love, Camilla What kind of pain is it? Does anyone else have problems distinguishing the difference between fibro pain, back pain from other sources, OA etc? Guest guest
I have had my pain from fibro and my physical pain all my life and it is very, very difficult to distinguish between the two. It is the very rare occasion when I know it is one or the other. I just usually grit my teeth and count minutes. I'm on 500 mg of Neurontin 3 times a day - take motrin or advil if I need a little extra edge. They usually don't do anything, so I don't usually take them. Hot showers, lots of hot showers to help with the aches and muscle cramps and spasms. Learning meditation and mindfulness to help focus and retrain the brain to deal with things instead of making it worse. It's with me always. Some days it sits nicely in the chair across the room and I know it's sitting there, other days its like a child, whining and trying to crawl up my leg and not leave me alone. But ALWAYS there. God, I'm depressing, aren't I? Sorry. Lynn What kind of pain is it? > > > Does anyone else have problems distinguishing the difference between > fibro pain, back pain from other sources, OA etc?
