HI,

I sent a message about my struggles as you all have your own.

I figured it would be an outlet to reach out to people who would understand

my chronic pain.

I feel hurt and guess do not belong here.

I must have missed something because I do not understand what you are

referring to. I for one apologize if I have done anything to offend you. I

certainly did not mean to. Gwen

Sheree Gilbert:::

Sheree {{{{{{big hugs}}}}}}, of course you belong here. I wish none of us did.

Dealing with chronic pain is an awful experience. It's not one that anyone

should have to do alone. I'm so sorry you feel you don't belong here, please

give us another chance. I know personally I am sometimes less than supportive,

because I don't always have the ability to respond to posts if my pain is bad. I

do read the posts and understand what the poster is going through. and they have

my, sometimes silent, support. Anyone experiencing chronic pain belongs here.

You can write to me personally if you want, to vent or just to make a friend.

Hello Sheree -

Please don't take it personally.

Everyone here has pain too, and sometimes it's hard to follow and

respond to all the messages when we all hurt.

And there's a lot of traffic on this list, as you've seen. It's just

too easy for one message to get overlooked. We've all have to re-post

every now and then, and put that " no one answered the first time " in

the post or subject line so that it gets noticed. If people dont'

answer, that's not a comment on the person or the post - it's just the

reality of a busy list community.

Also, I went back to find your original message, and it may have gotten

overlooked because you used a subject line from a previous message. I

wasn't following that thread, so I skipped right over it. But if you

put " New Member Introduction " in your subject line, everyone will perk

right up and pay attention.

I'm sorry for the pain that brought you here, but if you choose to stay

and be a little patient with your fellow pain patients, you'll find

it's a great group who will give you lots of support.

I have to reiterate what Gwen is saying here. I will admit I am not always the

best at welcoming new members (but will work on improving this), but I also must

have missed something.

I would not want anyone on this list to feel left out when you need support

and friendship the most.

Again, my apologies, and a very warm welcome to the group Sheree.

Please do not say that, I don't always post and lie down when I come

home and fall asleep until the next day. But when I read you post I

said NO, do not quit writing. We are listening and if we don't get to

you right away, don;t think that. It is so easy to feel the way you

do. I felt that way and wrote the same post you did and a member named

Lyndi wrote me privately and told me how important I was to the group.

She does not know me from Adam.

I do not know you but I want you to know we care and I will speak for

everyone here because people post at different times but everyone will

tell you that they care and understand and they mean it. There is a

lot of information here that will help. If one person does not reply,

someone else will later on.

Please keep on writing, for the lady that wrote me. Someone named

or Lyndi just died from this group and if that was the lady that

e-mailed me, I know she would want you to feel welcome and someone to

tell you that you are important like I am.

Write back and let us know how you are doing please.

Bennie

I'm so sorry you are feeling that no one is paying attention to you.

Being a part of a support group means just that " support " a lot of

times members here are in too much pain to " support " anyone let

alone themselves.

I had a work related injury in 2000. I have three disks in my neck

torn, C3-C4-C5 and have been told by 3 Neurosurgeons that i will

never be able to have surgery, my disks will just keep tearing. I

currenty take 10mgs of Methadone per day. But since i had a breast

reduction 8/16 my neck/back has been feeling much better. I was

taking up to 40mgs of Methadone per day and now am down to 10mgs per

day!

I know there are a lot of " lurkers " here, which is not a bad thing.

Most times it's due to hurting too much to even type or turn on the

puter to read. So that doesn't mean they on't care at all.

There are a lot of members of this group and sometimes your post

could be " lost " in all the others. But keep posting we do care and

understand as no one else does!

Since i'm off work until the middle of Oct, i'm always around,

please feel free to contact me anytime.

Sheree, we were just trying to tell you that pain docs don't change

prescriptions over the phone. They don't get paid to do that and won't. That

would be free medical care. We all have to see them face to face to do that. No

one here tried to hurt you in any way. You'll learn a lot about the ins and outs

of pain offices if you stay. A lot of us have been going to them for years. Joan
