Guest guest
Sue, We use LLMagnetic clay for our daughter - 12. At first, she burned when she had to go to the bathroom (urine). But, we've been using this for a couple of years. It's great. She does so much better with it - better eye contact, speech and cognitive ability. She asks for the clay bath. I don't use the mix that comes with clay. Our daughter is very sensitive and the mixes seem to be too much. We just use the clay - alone. Remember to give zinc and other supplements if you use the clay bath. We also tried the Theraputic Living Clay - we didn't notice any changes at all using that brand. Guest guest
Can I ask how often you use the baths? I used them with my then 5 year old daughter and thought I saw changes but after about a year, stopped. thanks, Molly zeolite and clay bath hi, can someone relate their experiences with the above? thanks sue
Guest guest
Molly, Sometimes she doesn't get a clay bath for a couple of months. But, I try to give her one at least once a week. Sometimes twice a week. I always use Epsom Salt with every bath - even with the clay and especially after she swims. We also use PCA-RX and Maxam Labs products. Our daughter seems to be able to absorb them so well. Guest guest
Which formula do you use? We used to alternate mercury detox and environmental detox. I did it twice a week for a long time. Maybe if I don't have such high expectations I would do better:) I have used epsom salts too but stopped because there were emails about contamination. Do you buy a certain brand? These are such easy things to do (relatively speaking--no shots, tests, yucky vitamins), I think I need to start back up again. Thanks. Guest guest
We tried several formulas but I always ended up using the clay by itself. LLMagnetic now has a " plain " version. We use Epsom Salt from the grocery store or Wal-Mart. I've also researched different types of Epsom Salts and their inert ingredient list of contaminants. I couldn't find a " clean " brand and decided that we would continue because it makes a positive difference for our daughter. I wish we had a filter for our bath tub but we don't. Our water has high chlorine content and we have copper pipes. We make sure she drinks distilled water, we cook with it (non-aluminum pans), etc. But, the bath is a problem because we can't filter the water and for whatever reason the Epsom Salt works wonderfully for our daughter. I understand your comment about " high expectations " - and I totally agree. These things are so easy to do - not as a miracle cure - just as maintenance to keep her at the level she's gained through chelation, supplements, MB12 shots, etc. It's really more than that - she can participate in swimming without fear of a chlorine episode. And, she really gains positive steps after each clay bath. We will continue using the clay baths - our daughter asks for them. Guest guest
What does a " chlorine episode " look like for your daughter? Mine loves to swim but I noticed that the two times I didn't rinse her off afterwards, she was much more irritable and apt to cry or get angry--very unpredictable and on edge. I stopped going to the pool because of it. Luckily it was the end of the season but I need a plan B for next summer and swim lessons. She loves to swim and I need to find a way to allow her to do it without such a strong negative reaction. Do you think the epsom salt baths help? Have you ever tried the epsom salt cream? My DAN! doctor recommended it and I used it for a while. It's so hard to know what does and doesn't help. thanks for your help. Guest guest
There is an excellent answer to the swimming issue, unfortunately it is not always easy to find or do. There is a way to sanitize pools without using chemicals or just a very tiny amount of chlorine. It is an ionization system and there may be several on the market, but the one we use in our pool is Carribean Clear. This system was developed by NASA and works even better than the chemical cocktail in keeping pools clean and clear. Because of not using the chemicals, it is far easier and pays for itself in no time at all. Since we have an inground pool at home, my kids swim all the time as do friends of ours and neither of us have seen any negative reaction like we did with the chlorinated pools. It is so nice not to smell that chlorine all the time and your eyes don't burn either! They have these systems for any pool size. Good luck with your plan B! Guest guest
Our daughter has the same negative reaction as you stated. The Epsom Salt REALLY helps. I always make her jump in the tub after she swims. I even keep a small play pool filled with Epsom Salt beside the swimming pool so she can swim all day without having to go in the house to jump in the tub. She swims a while then she gets over in the little play pool with her Barbies or other toys and gets de-chlorinated. I take Epsom Salt everywhere we go - especially on vacations. Pools can contain such strong chemicals. We have the cream but I prefer the whole bath. It's not hard and I've learned with our daughter that preventing an episode is so much easier than dealing with one. I would much rather buy a 10.00 play pool and fill it with Epsom salt so she can play all day in the pool - than deal with her irritability, hyper, crying spells after she swims. zeolite and clay bath hi, can someone relate their experiences with the above? thanks sue
