Does anyone charge for the intake or initial assessment by the Cardiac Rehab nurse before the client begins a monitored cardiac exercise program? If so, what CPT code do you use? In our case, since we are a hospital based program the stress test is done by the referring physician not by us, yet we still like to meet individually with the client to develop goals, etc. Also how are other programs coping with the Medicare fee schedule reimbursement, in CO we get $17.71 per client per class, about a 70% discount off our regular charges. This seems to be having a significant impact on our program. How are others coping? Have you changed your service delivery model? If so, how? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.
