Guest guest
There are a lot of young people who are being diagnosed with fibro and a lot more who have it and can't get anyone to listen. I have a 16 y.o. who probably has it, but hasn't gotten the diagnosis yet. You can find some information here and some support. You might also try finding a group of young people with fibro as well as being a part of ours. a > Is anyone out there with fibromyalgia 13? I'm the only one who is 13 > and has fibromyalgia!! Guest guest
Oh my dear. We are all in this with you. I am 69, but I remember well how it felt to be 13 and scared. Of course, you are upset. You have reason to be. This is an unfair disease and it strikes anybody it feels like. How about your best friend? Can you have a heart to heart talk with her. Or better still, could she go to the doc with you? Then she would get an understanding of fibro and how it makes you feel. Remember that fibro alters your brain chemistry and depression goes along with this. Don't be afraid to seek help......from doctors or clergymen or psychiatrists. Nothing is wrong with getting help and you will need someone to monitor you and keep track of your meds. Don't be afraid to ask for pain relief. Try talking to someone who deals in natural vitamins....there are many companies...Shaklee is one... I take their stuff and I think it helps. I also listen to a wise friend who knows a lot about homeopathic remedies and I take the stuff she recommends like fish oil and red yeast rice. Sounds weird doesn't it????? Can you really talk to your parents about this? They need to know what is going on in your mind. Please let us be part of your support system. We are all ageless when it comes to this disease. I know exactly how you feel with the pain because I am going through the SAME thing. Love, Camilla p.s. I have a book somewhere written by a woman who has two teenage daughters with fibro. I'm going to look for it and give you the title when I find it. The girls had lots of practical suggestions. Any 13 year olds who have fibromyalgia Is anyone out there with fibromyalgia 13? I'm the only one who is 13 and has fibromyalgia!! I really need a friend my own age with this disease. Well, please help me out!!! 1. While it is wonderful to share our experiences with everyone on the list as to what treatments do and don't work for us, pls always check with your dr. Some treatments are dangerous when given along with other meds as well as to certain health conditions or just dangerous in general. 2. If you are in a difficult situation (doesn't matter what it is) pls don't be afraid to ask for help. It is the first step to trying to make that situation better. Have a nice day everyone. Guest guest
yeah, i've only had FMS for a couple of months. my mom also has FMS. but she's 42, so it's a little different for her. i've already had a talk with all my friends. most of them understand the disease and that it's hard for me to be normal at times. it's kinda hard for them 2 understand all the pain i'm in. my mom takes natural vitamins all the time. she says they help her, i've tried some and they didn't help me. i'd like 2 know the name of that book. sorry, i have 2 go now. thanks ashley. > Oh my dear.
