Guest guest
hi gang, i've spent the better part of this week trying very hard NOT to be irked that USC was " supposed " to call last monday, to firm up jim's many LDLT evaluation appts, but didn't. the good news (after all, it IS still friday, at the time of this writing!) is that jim placed several voicemail messages, and USC finally DID call back, this evening... so now the official word is jim has numerous appts set for (get out your red pens and mark your calendars!) monday, october 15th... beginning at 9am. jim feels a bit nervous about the whole transplant idea, but for his sake, i'm soooo relieved these appointments are finally, finally set. USC is only a couple hours away, but jim is contemplating the 2 of us going up there the night before, to spend the night; he positively loathes the stress of highway gridlock, and wants to eliminate fighting all that grueling monday morning LA traffic. he'll start out his morning at USC with a ct-scan... then bloodwork... then we meet the transplant surgeon... then his hepatologist (we don't know which one yet)... then a social worker... then a financial coordinator (of course!). this will more or less conclude what our insurance company has determined USC needs. jim has secured his previous ct-scan, for comparison. i'm trying to decide which cross-stitch and novel to bring up with me! we'd appreciate your prayers of intervention on jim's behalf, that the doctors will find no evidence of cancer (jim has serious risk) and deem him suitable for transplantation, so they can move on to setting up appts for our son jason to be evaluated. with much love & thanks for your continued support, maureen ( & jim)
