Guest guest Posted October 8, 2005 Report Share Posted October 8, 2005 Hi Jan There is a rapid release, short acting morphine called MSIR (morphine sulphate instant relief) that could be used as a substitute for the Vicodin. It's probably very expensive. If the Kadian isn't too effective, nor the Vicodin for breakthrough pain aren't working, your physician needs to examine you and re-evaluate your case. Sometimes the reason the medications no longer work is because our condition has changed.
