Guest guest
Hey guys, I just joined the site. I am a fairly young college student and just had one of those heart to heart conversations with my father about the real reasons why my parents divorced when I was 2. My mom has the characteristics of someone with BPD. I am new to all this but so much makes since from my childhood. My mom got custody of me from the divorce and in a nutshell kept me from visiting with my dad..although she always told me that I could go see him whenever I wanted to. There are so many new things I want to try and do to help rekindle my mom and my relationship. Last semester she was severly depressed and was threatening to harm herself. And I realized then that something was not right with our as she calls it " best friend " relationship. I am currently reading SWOE by Mason and Kreger and going through the 12 Step Plan that is used by Al-Anon as both of my parents are also alcoholics. I have experienced so much at such a young age. My new years goals are to be healthy and find happiness. Any suggestions yall may have about going through this long process of understanding these circumstances and developing a new way of living with a new perspective would be amazing. I think this site is so amazing...makes me feel a little more normal than what I have thought before. Thanks.
