Guest guest
A lot of my problems seemed to pop out years ago after we lost power for several days in Winter, had a big rain storm and the ground was frozen, water had no place to go, so it made it into my basement, power was out so sub-pump didn't work, basement flooded (4 feet), mold was growing very quickly, I spent many hrs. cleaning up down there and after that I slowly became sick, and my dormant Lyme of 12 years popped out (I thought my Lyme was gone, but I found out it never left my body), and I think the mold was the cause. Then my life spiraled out of control. Been trying to get my health back ever since. I believe the mold played the biggest part in setting me over the edge, along w/lots of dental work, root canals, amalgams, etc. I can't say that my house is pristine now w/o any mold spores floating around, there's no leaks in my roof anymore and I keep fans in the basement running at all times (constant air flow keeps the basement dry), and the dehumidifier is always on. How would I test to see if I still have mold in my house? I've been using alternative methods (coil machine, MMS etc.) for 3 years trying to control lyme with little success. Mark from Lyme strategies, mentioned awhile back, if you're not getting anywhere treating lyme, look at mold. I just finished reading Ritchie Shoemaker's book, Mold WARRIORS. I found it hard to believe that I've been battling this for almost 20 years and just found this book. I think it's a must read for anyone battling a chronic illness. Now, with that said, has anyone read the book and if so, did you explore any of Shoemakers's ideas, tests or advice? I know I've been dealing with lyme and I'm pretty sure mold is a player as well. Shoemaker said in his book, " it's very possible to be dealing with both mold and lyme " . I'd love to chat with anyone who has read Mold Warriors and to hear your thoughts. Has anyone tried to clean up a moldy house? Shoemakers makes it sound as if it's almost impossible. Thanks, from CT.
