Hi Peggy,I started with expensive CS from the natural food store, but then learned that CS, made with a quality home generator, is actually superior and much, much cheaper. I've made my own CS (actually a mix of colloidal and ionic silver) now for almost three years, on a Silver Puppy (using only distilled water). It has an automatic setting to shut off when the proper concentration is reached. or you can set it to manual if you want to make a more powerful concentration for topical use. Makes a mason jarful in about three hours. I keep a large jug handy for rinsing hair (dandruff & psoriasis), and my husband rinses his teeth with it at night , then swallows a couple oz. I put a bit of it in the dog's water bowl, especially in hot weather to keep the water clean. As Lymie, I still worry that it might encyst the critters, so i tend to use it topically, and only drink a couple oz when I've been exposed to someone's germs or when i feel like a cold is trying to find me. (Yes, my immune system is actually recovered enough for me to manifest cold symptoms! Yay!) I'd definitely drink a few oz a day if I had a recurrance of the pertussis I had a couple years back, or any acute infection that was going around. For nasal use, I use an emptied Afrin mister, but just ordered a Sinucleanse Kids Mister, based on some group recommendations.(nicely portable) I just give a couple squirts up the nose while inhaling sharply; that's it! Tingles sometimes, for a few moments. If I had a tenacious infection, I'd add a few drops of DMSO to the CS, but i haven't needed that.If I have any ear issues, i drop it in my ear. use it on my earlobes if a pierced ear gets irritated. For other topical treatment, i mix 2 parts CS, 1 part Lugol's, and last, 1 part DMSO. This accelerates wound healing nicely. I ordered small, refillable glass roll-on bottles on eBay and this is a great way to apply it with little waste. For dry-eye, which has been a problem for decades, I use a glass dropper bottle of CS, just a few drops in each eye: clears up the discomfort, gets the red out. When i had a uveitis flare last year, I wanted to get the CS deeper into the vitreous of the eye, so added a few drops of DMSO to the bottle. I'd heard it was a good remedy, but was scared the first time I tried it. It cleared up the eyeball ache, the scarlet sclera, much faster than abx had years before when I first experienced uveitis. I reluctantly told my opthamologist what I'd done, and he gave his blessings, as his exam showed how effectively my eye had cleared up.As for people turning gray; that has been either from crude, home-ade devices, or from using tap water or contaminated water. A pity, because it has scared off so many people from a truly wonderful remedy. The Silver Puppy and the Silver gen have an excellent reputation. In fact, The one time I tried to make CS with the wrong water, it simply shut off almost immediately. (I'd used distilled water to which I'd added prill beads, rather than water directly from the distiller) It's tiresome, the eye-rolling we, who happily use good CS, encounter from people who've only heard the sensational media nonsense and propaganda. It's simply not in big pharma's interest to see people become knowledgeable about this.Hope this helps.Be well,LénaHi Lena, You mentioned in a recent post that you use CS for nasal issues. Would you mind saying more about that--what form of CS--purchased or homemade? If homemade, using what kind of equipment? How do you spray it and how much do you use? I've had an upper respiratory infection for 6 weeks and it's going nowhere. I've tried CS in the past orally, a variety of quality brands (by which I mean "expensive"), with no results. I recently read here about people using it in very large quantities, but I've read elsewhere of problems from doing that, i.e. turning gray. I don't mean I've read that in media, because who cares what they say, but reports from actual users. So that concerns me. But your approach might be a good one for me, if you could provide a little more info. Thanks a bunch. Peggy

Hi Lena,

Thanks for so much good information. I've copied all of it to my files, and I really appreciate your help so much. You got your machine at SlipperyPuppy.com? I wonder why they're so expensive. They don't look that complicated.

Many thanks from one of the eye-rolling we; I don't use CS yet, but I have enough stuff in this house to freak out any medical person who happens along. I have a friend who's an RN--she won't drink my kefir because "it's not FDA approved." Wait a minute, she cans her own fruit and vegetables, makes pickles and sauerkraut. What's the difference?

Hi Peggy,It would be best to just google SilverPuppy. There are a couple sites, and one will lead you to actual description of the generator and other products, like the kit for making gel. The SilverPuppy comes with a stand with a motorized, magnetic stirrer; an important function for making good CS. The two electrodes are pure silver and despite making gallons and gallons of CS, mine are still almost like new. (I'd figured they would have dwindled to nothing by now, but no). Altogether a good, reliable machine, with good support if you have any questions. (At one point, I'd replaced my distiller filter and hadn't rinsed the new one quite enough; the SilverPuppy kept shutting off. It took a while to figure out that there was nothing wrong with the SP, but again, just the water I was giving it.Regarding FDA and those who are blinkered by main steam medical attitudes, Common sense is now an oxymoron as it's quite uncommon these days, and willful inconsistency and/or hypocrisy is a serious problem. FDA goes after kefir and farmers' markets, while still endorsing aspartame: go figure! Ignorant folk are stirred up by TV ads protesting 'Taxing our groceries!' when the stuff listed: sodas, 'fruit' drinks, sports drinks, and flavored water, are not by any stretch really food, but sources of serious future health problems that everyone will have to pay for instead. Still, the madness of the world can encourage independent thought, once we understand that the powers-that-be are either mendacious, corrupt or just bone ignorant and happy about it. Every time so-called authorities insist on perpetuating known lies, they ruin their cred, and set me free: to inquire, question and after careful study, to trust new things.I've pretty much staked my life on this way of being, and it's paying off, bigtime. Thus endeth the evening rant.(sorry, must be getting cabin fever)Be well,LénaHi Lena, Thanks for so much good information. Thanks, Lena. You've given this product a great endorsement and now I find myself compelled to consider it. Just gotta wait for the ole bank account to repopulate itself.

Yes, I agree--common sense is now an oxymoron. Your "taxing our groceries" comment reminded me of a trip to the grocery store a couple years ago. There was a sign posted at the cash register when I checked out, asking if I wanted to buy a raffle ticket for $100 worth of groceries. I asked the cashier exactly what that meant--did I get to choose my own food if I won? She pointed to a grocery cart piled high with junk and wrapped in plastic, and informed me that if I won, that would be my prize. My response--"thanks but that's not food." Seriously, if it can sit packaged in cardboard and wrapped in plastic for a month while the raffle plays out, is it really edible? No raffle ticket for me.

Home colloidal lilver generators (electrolysis) make a mixture of roughly 15 %

particles (colloids) and 85% ions. Silver-colloids.com is written by the

manufacture of Mesosilver, which is 80% particles and 20% ions, and not made by

electrolysis. I don't personally see any real evidence that mesosilver is more

effective than basically free home-made silver. Get a home generator and skip

the mesosilver.

(p.s. Part of my book on colloidal silver will be published on my website within

the next 2 weeks! It's turning out really great.)

everything that's there. According to lab reports " silver generators " make only

Ionic Silver and not a true Colloidal Silver.
