Grinning and blushing here. :-)) Love- Sandie -- Iward27663@... wrote: Sandy, you do have a heart problem. No wonder the month long monitor. I had chest pain for years, and they found it to be Variant Angina. Spasm. I am fine, Although most of my family have died with heart problems. I am so glad that you are getting the help you need. You are too special to be like this, so do get well. I think the problem with hospital monitoring is if one has an episode during the 24-48 hr. monitoring, bonus. If not, nothing is caught. I appreciate that my doctor ordered the King of Hearts Events Monitor to be worn 30 days. This monitor doesn't continually record. Only records when I push the " record " button, however, it does record the minute prior to pushing the button as well as 30 seconds or maybe a bit longer after I have pushed the button. I have had an irregular heart beat for years, heart murmur when I was in elementary school. It became even more noticable as recent as June of this year and I could usually get myself out of it. I was in the hospital the month I turned 45. Thought I had a running lead on one year older but it caught up with me. I did bring down the average age at the Iowa Heart Center by quite a margin. I have been doing studying and researching on the heart to find out the lingo of it all. I don't plan on figuring out my own diagnosis, however, knowledge is power so when I go to the cardiologist on the 17th I will have an idea of what I am being told. Amazingly high systolic pressure at 300. I, too, wonder why your mom never had a stroke when she was younger. High BP runs in my family as does heart problems so I plan on staying on top of this for my lifetime. Interesting that you wrote " smell the roses " ...as yellow roses always remind me of my mom. A blessing that you were a messenger. :-)) I have followed your journey with Don. My heart goes out to both of you and I continue to send up prayers for you and Don.
