Guest guest
I must have gotten lucky here... Driving doesn't seem to bother me, nor does it being the passenger. I'm extremely grateful for that as and I do a lot of driving to different gatherings and meets with friends and family. My truck means a lot to me and I'd hate to lose my wheels. It takes me to all the places that I can no longer take myself to. What problems are people having with driving. I'd like to learn as much as I can as you never know when that day will come that I won't be able to drive anymore. Any info would be greatly appreciated. hugs, Norah Norah Bleazard - Burlington, Ontario Canada www.bleazard.net ~ www.janorlites.com E-MAIL= norah.fibroyahoo@... CHAT= MSN = black_dak_98@... Havent been able to for over a year. And as far as driving is concerened I cant drive very far because its very painful for me. I have a standard transmition (stick) so I use my legs and feet a lot and its hard on me to stop and go. I get pains in my feet and legs or elbow pain from all the shifting and stearing. I dont normally drive more then 20 miles at a time. Sitting in a poassenger seat isnt that bad but I have found that I am more comfortable in the driver seat because there is more room... at least there is in my car. ka
Guest guest
I don't have a choice ka, I can't make my house payment, car payment plus all the other bills of two kids off what disability would pay. Not to mention, I am required by my divorce decree to keep medical and dental insurance on my kids so if I quit my job I'd lose my insurance coverage. > I hurt so much I cant work... Guest guest
Working (in fast food) was when I first starting having really bad flares. I haven't gone back to work after getting fired from that job (because my Dr. put me on a medical leave), so I don't know how much better/worse something else would be. I can tell you car rides cause flare ups for me. Usually driving around town is okay. But we show rabbiits as a hobby, and that means in any given weekend we might be making a 4 hour round trip somewhere. Those longer trips cause me all kinds of pain! Dad and I recently drove up to Oregon to visit some friends, I was sure I was going to die. I took my Relafan for 3 days straight and it didn't do a *#$ & thing! I think on future trips, I need to be knocked out once I'm in the car. -
Guest guest
I truly don't think it is a choice .. I worked on for years struggling against the symptoms, but now I just can't work.. I can only manage to get out of bed once a day on a normal day and use a mobility scooter. I too have bills to pay but there is no way I can work. I have social security. The pain and chronic fatigue plus fibro fog make me unfit for any work at all. ka.. I am like you, I can drive the 15 miles to hospital and am much better off in the driver's seat with the extra leg room. Its in heavy traffic that I also have trouble, with constant pedal work. I have a trailer on the car to carry my electric scooter and turning that is exhausting for me.
