Guest guest
I just found this site tonight and I would love some input because I'm kind of starting to freak out. I'm a first time mom, my son will be 5 months old and I think he's been on Miralax since his 2 month checkup, but it might have been 1 month, I will have to try to find the paper where the DR suggested it to us. Anyway, I give my son 1tsp/day and about a month ago we started putting in his bottle before bed. He's been urinating so much at night that he completely soaks through a 12 hr Pampers Baby Dry diaper and it leaks and wakes him. He also wakes more frequently. He is still usually constipated so we give him juice on occasion but that makes him spit up even more than normal (he has reflux and is on Zantac as well, although we are weaning him off of it now). He used to seem happier and when he was younger he would sit in his swing or bouncy seat all day. Now he constantly fusses if he isn't being held constantly. He won't nap unless he's being rocked. I guess you could say he's what Dr. Sears calls a high need baby. Everyone says I spoiled him and I guess it's possible when I was home on maternity leave but do you think this could be caused from the Miralax. Sometimes he seems like less and less things please him. Do you think it's too late to have him go back to " normal " if it was caused from the Miralax? Has anyone noticed reflux as a symptom of Miralax? We started giving him Natren Life Start probiotics a week ago and have seen a huge improvement in BMs and in attitude however I'm afraid to wean him off the Miralax because last time I tried I lowered the dose by 1/4tsp and almost took him to the hospital because he was huirting and crying so hard from not pooping. What's the best way to wean him off of this stuff? I'm so afraid I've done irreparable damage...please advise!!!! And thank you all in advance!
