Dear Charnel,

I would suggest that you seek advice from a physiotherapist, one associated with

a rehabilitation centre, so they know what they are talking about. A cane may

not be the only possible option, and the physiotherapist would be able to try

you with other suggestions to see if thay would help you in your situation.

I was taught to use a cane by the physiotherapist at the spinal injuries unit I

was at once, without which teaching I would not have known how to begin. I have

a friend who uses a walker frame instead for getting around. My Dad now uses a

cane, he has a problem hip and deliberated for a long time before he decided to

get himself a walking stick. I sometimes use my cane to tell me where the floor

is in relation to me on days when my balance is not as good as I wish.

Ask for the help you need.

Best wishes,

,

Have you considered trying to see if a would be any benefit to you?

You do have to have upper Body strength........there are now s, where

you lean on your Forearms and push. Not sure of the name of them, but you

might want to look into it, espeically if you are worried about your Hand

strength.

pretty useless and I am having a hard time walking. I have thought about a

cain but I have some questions because I would not be able to use it in my

right hand and it feel really ackward try to use it with my left hand. Plus

there are days that my left hand soesn't work very well either. Does antone

have any suggestions?
