Guest guest
I came across this line in the article"One of the traditional remedies has been the use of prune juice. This is not recommended on a long term basis because it acts as a mild laxative and the intestines become dependent on it to function properly. To eliminate your constipation problem the intestines must function properly on their own. Use of prune juice doesn't allow this to happen. "Is it true that taking prunes (either as juice or as such or the fruiteze jam) is not recommended for a long term? I have seen many moms in this forum use prunes regularly. I didn't want it to be habit forming for my daughter. I haven't seen this comment for prunes in any other site except this article. To: miralax From: jhud2@...Date: Tue, 26 Jan 2010 16:24:50 -0500Subject: article on constipation http://www.health911.com/remedies/rem_consti.htm
Guest guest
Some websites say prunes are safe. Who knows for sure? http://www.medicinenet.com/constipation/page5.htm Prunes and prune juice have been used for many years to treat mild constipation. There is no evidence that the mild stimulant effects of prunes or prune juice damage the colon. > > > I came across this line in the article > > " One of the traditional remedies has been the use of prune > juice.
