We just bought one at a natural foods store yesterday that my daughter,

almost 3, liked. It’s made by Nature’s Way and its called

Primadophilus kids. They have cherry and orange. Then there is one for

older kids, it think its another raspberry flavor. This one you take once

daily and the bottle needs to be kept refrigerated. It’s a 3 strain

formula for kids age 2-12. It’s a small white bottle with a yellow lid.

as someone suggested to me on this list....attune

bars...chocolate....at safeway stores (vons, etc) in the yogurt

section. They apparently taste good because my VERY picky daughter

eats a half of one every evening without complaint.

We have been using Dr. Mercola's powder probiotics. I see that you've tried a powder before, but this is something both of our daughters will eat as is or in water. They have a sweet and a bit sour taste.

See Dr. Mercola's PROBIOTIC PACKS -

Yes, Attune is FANTASTIC!! But, expensive. We don't have the flavor Good Belly ds likes in our area (but we've had it in the past on our travels and is good and works well). The store won't order it. , how is the probiotic working for you? Do you see BM's with no problems, straining, etc. Do they go regularly? This sounds like a great product and I think Mercola is very smart

Hi Jeanie,

Our daughters are older (16 and 14 yrs old)... our constipation problems are long gone and part of our past, thankfully. But I just wanted to offer another possible solution to the group as I like Dr. Mercola, his informative website and products.

I also find the Probiotic packs easy to drink with water or eat in powder form. It just melts in your mouth.

Venus, That's a sure sign something in it didn't agree with her. I'm not 100% certain about this, but I believe that this is a man made strain. I thought I read this somewhere but can't find it at the moment. Also, It contains dairy, whey, casein, microcrystalline cellulose. Not sure if your child has a dairy or casein allergy, but this may be an indication.

http://www.culturelle.com/files/culturelle/pdf/Culturelle_supplement_facts_EDH30.pdf

Here's what I mean.............

For years scientists had studied health benefits of a "good" bacteria called lactobacillus found in foods like yogurt, milk and certain cheeses. Of the strains they were able to isolate and test, they found that most could not consistently survive the strong acids of the stomach and intestinal bile.

Enter Dr. Sherwood L. Gorbach and Barry R. Goldin. These two doctors embraced the challenge and set out to discover the ultimate probiotic power - a strain strong enough, sticky enough, fertile enough to survive the stomach acids and colonize in the intestines successfully.

What they found was Lactobacillus GG. A probiotic unlike any other.Culturelle vs. Other Probiotics

Most people I've spoke to say Lactobacillus Rhamous is the one to take for constipation. We had wonderful results with kirkman chewable. I wouldn't do a one size fits all b/c of her reaction. I'd go with a natural probiotic from a Chiro or Kirkman, the one's that need to be refrigerated. They are live bacteria and it makes me wonder when they start doing funky things with them that can stay on shelves.

We just bought one at a natural foods store yesterday that my daughter, almost 3, liked. It’s made by Nature’s Way and its called Primadophilus kids. They have cherry and orange. Then there is one for older kids, it think its another raspberry flavor. This one you take once daily and the bottle needs to be kept refrigerated. It’s a 3 strain formula for kids age 2-12. It’s a small white bottle with a yellow lid.

Does anyone know of some GREAT tasting chewable probiotics my ds could take? Right now we use a powder and he hates it. Kirkman's didn't work - he doesn't like the taste. Thanks!!

we are almost positive that culterelle made our daughter more aggressive and depressed. after 5 weeks of the worst raging ever..we stopped it 10 days ago....and she is back to normal now for about a week or so.still giving the attune though. it does not seem to bother her>>

Marg, are you sure you can't have these? They were made specifically for diabetics. The xylitol and sorbital aren' t suppose to feed yeast, or change your glucose level, this is why they created them? I'd hate to see you pass up something that could help you. Have you asked your doctor?

When I went to purchase culturelle, the health food store

strongly cautioned against it for a child. They said that it is the strongest

they carry, with all the bacterias listed at a dose of 10billion. The brand

that my husband and I use (Jarro) is only at 5 billion, and the one we settled

on for our 2 yr old is at 3billion, with strains specific to a child’s GI

tract, whereas culturelle is specific to an adults GI tract. I encourage you to

not give up on probiotics, there are different strains and doses, I think you’ll

find one that works and gives pleasing results J

These probiotics are only sold to health care practitioners (Chiro's etc.) This is the one ours recommended. Haven't tried as she won't take a powder. The only one she'll take is Kirkman's chewable.

Jeanie,

In what form do the Kirkman's chewables come? Are they like gummies?
