Dr Mercola sells books, dvds, supplements, food, etc. on his website. Dr. Wakefield had a financial conflict of interest in his " research " and stood to make (and has made) a substantial amount of money. I hear of " DAN! " doctors who charge $1,000 just for an initial visit. That is price gouging. People always say to follow the money trail ... the same stands true for both big Pharma and anti-Pharma.Unfortunately all this does if leave people like me confused and scared. I'm expecting my 3rd child (a surprise pregnancy) and am once again faced with tons of conflicting information about vaccines. One of the reasons I didn't want another child is I didn't want to have to make these decisions again. How does one ever know who to trust? It is very frustrating. Then there are those(my son) that almost died from them. Every child is different, every immune is different! The one you trust is YOU, your instincts! Not me, not Sam(uncle), not Dan(nat.doc), not secular docs etc etc, but you! If your gut says no, trust it, if your gut says yes, research research yourself and decide what the best course is as far as how many, which ones, you may change your mind after research etc. I well never ever tell someone to do them so I am the last one to ask this,so maybe Jack can help with advising the other side for you and we can find a balance that well help you! He is good at trying to bring balance out! Yes you are write in that money greed is everywhere, but the means behind the money counts, what the means is about(or should I say bigger picture). The 1 thing I can say 100% for you, is do not vaccinate while pregnant!! I have a niece who has decided not to vaccinate her children and they are the most healthiest children I know personally and know of many others through distant contacts with the same situation with non vac kids. I have yet to know or hear of 1 singal child that is ill from not vaccinating. But I would not be the one to say one shouldnt and then there child gets ill also(but so you know every singal vac we are using today, most do recover from naturally if there wasnt vaccines). You, as a new parent once again, worry is part of being a parent, fear is something we have to work on! Fear usually, but not always, is at times a gut instinct we have to figure out! Make the best decision you can and get a good night's sleep. No guarantees in life, right? And opt out of ones that I don't feel are necessary. I try to reduce our risks for issues by reducing our exposures to as many chemicals as possible, i.e., eating only organic foods and using only organic/natural cleaning products and skin care. Guest guest Posted May 17, 2010 Report Share Posted May 17, 2010 I hope this doesn’t sound offensive, but here’s the advice I give to my dear ones when they worry about the decisions they must make for their children: God gave each specific child to the specific mother/father who would have the unique instincts/gut feelings to raise that unique child. Listen to what your motherly instincts are telling you about this child. Draw on your knowledge and life experiences, lay your eyes on your child and get to know him, and follow your gut.
