Guest guest
Yesterday I got the results of my blood tests. All of my liver enzymes were lower than last time, although they were still noticeably elevated. However, my serum creatinine levels were also elevated (they were normal 3 months ago), and my doc wanted to check them again after two weeks. Now I understand that creatinine might be an indication of early renal failure, but how common are elevated creatinine levels in PSC? FYI, I also have the following diseases Type 1 Diabetes (since 1979) Celiac disease (since 1984) UC (2001) PSC (2001) I would guess that the creatinine elevations might be a complication of my Diabetes, but who knows what the interactions between these diseases are? Also, my serum albumin levels were a bit low. How common is this in the early stages of PSC? My doctor said that it can sometimes take up to a year before the albumin levels get back to normal, even though I can't quite understand what he meant. Normalize from what? After all, shouldn't PSC be a progressive disease? And to my final question: Has anyone else noticed that whenever their liver enzymes are up, they get fasciculations (muscle twitches) all over their body, most notably in their legs and calves? They are not cramps, but small twitches that can even go unnoticed. The only thing I'm sure of is that there is a clear correlation between these twiches and my liver enzymes. Whenever my enzyme activity is high, it look like there are worms crawling under my skin. It shouldn't really be any neurological disease (like ALS) since I've had it for over a year and it is in someway linked to my liver. Any expert opinions?
