Hello,

I am new here. On 3/31/10 our 5 yr old daughter had a terrible tonic

clonic seizure over an hour long and then had another seizure. does

have a mitochondrial disorder as well as other issues, but has never had this

type of problem. She was on Miralax for 4 days prior to the seizure for severe

constipation. I mentioned this but her docs did not seem to think this was a

problem. She continued with other smaller types of seizures, tics, mouth

grimacing, tongue grabbing, head dropping, etc. I had stopped the Miralax

because I wasn't sure if this was the problem. After talking with the docs, we

started the Miralax again because of the constipation about 1-1/2 weeks ago.

's tics got worse again. We could tell we were headed for another

seizure. I stopped the Miralax 3 days ago and started doing researach.

Yesterday I emailed her mito doc the FDA info about the possible symptoms of

Miralax and her mito doc agreed she had Miralax toxicity. Her blood work

supposedly shows no kidney damage.????

Do you have any advice on what we should do at this point? Is there something

time sensitive we should do for her now? Anything to clean out her system? Her

tics are getting better but she was sitting next to me this evening lip smacking

and she gets tired very easily. Her moods are crazy. Does it go away or will

she have this forever?

Thanks for this group - it probably saved my daughters life.
