I picked this up to try with my daughter since still getting heavy pressure to

use miralax from peds. (I really, really need to impress upon my daughter the

need to avoid anything with corn. She's not into reading labels and loves corn

so having some dietary compliance issues).

Anyway - I was hoping this would help in place of miralax, but am not sure what

dose to start out. I'm using the adult version so based on the site

recomendations, I'd give her 2 tsps instead of the 3 for an adult. I tried that

day 1, then dropped it to 1 tsp day 2 and then a couple of things happened. She

had some lemonade at a restaurant that I'm assuming had corn syrup in it and

munched on a snack mix (like chex, but made by quaker so my other daughter who

has allergies to nuts can eat it). The snack mix has corn in it. While she had

a fair amount, it didn't seem excessive but she had major soiling on Sunday most

of the day. I'm not sure if I started with too high of a dose of the nature's

calm or if it was the corn.

Could anyone give some suggestions as to where they would start the calm

(magnesium/calcium supplement) dose? I did not give her the mag/cal on Sunday or

this morning.
